    Bob here, to share my delightful experience at the Best Western in Rock Springs, Wyoming, famously known as the Outlaw Inn!

    We were making our way through the expansive landscapes from the dazzling lights of Las Vegas, Nevada, to the motorcycle haven of Sturgis, South Dakota.

    Rock Springs marked the perfect spot for a rejuvenating stopover.

    Now, let me tell you a bit about this splendid establishment!

    The Outlaw Inn name pays homage to the Wild West era when Rock Springs was a gathering place for outlaws and adventurers alike.

    With Rock Springs’ rich history dating back to the late 1800s, this town has seen its fair share of travellers.

    Each visitor brings tales as vibrant as the sunsets here in Wyoming.

    The Outlaw Inn was built in the mid-60s with a Western-style flair that reflects that colourful past, welcoming weary wanderers just like me!

    Fun Fact – The Outlaw Inn was the first hotel in the area to have an indoor swimming pool.

    Upon entering The Outlaw Inn, we were warmly greeted by a very friendly staff member.

    Her smile was as bright as a sunny day, and her accommodating nature was absolutely fantastic!

    She openly shared her wealth of knowledge about the area.

    On her recommendation, we ventured to a local eatery just down the street for dinner.

    Oh boy, was that a perfect choice!

    As we settled into our room, I felt like royalty in my cozy little domain.

    The space was wonderfully quiet, allowing me to rest my little duck head after a long day of travel.

    Although we had to leave early the next morning and didn’t get to partake in the complimentary breakfast.

    I have no doubt it would’ve been a splendid way to kickstart our day.

    Despite our brief stay, I left with fond memories of the Outlaw Inn.

    Big shout-out to the front desk lady for making our stay great and for her stellar dinner recommendation!

    Ghostown – Oatman, Arizona

    Bob here, waddling my way through the fascinating town of Oatman, Arizona!

    Nestled along the iconic Route 66, this charming little ghost town has a colourful history as vibrant as the landscapes surrounding it.

    Perfect for a quick detour on our road trip to Las Vegas from Apache Junction!

    Oatman was founded back in the early 1900s during the gold rush. In 1901, prospector George D. Wyeth found gold in the nearby hills, sparking a mining boom that drew a wave of hopeful miners and adventurers.

    The town flourished, reaching its peak around 1915 when it boasted over 3,500 residents!

    Can you imagine the hustle and bustle?

    Today, remnants of that rich history mix seamlessly with quirky shops and a lively spirit.

    As you stroll down the main street, you’ll find a treasure trove of quirky venues and shops that celebrate Oatman’s quirky character.

    The Oatman Hotel, built in 1902, is a must-see. It’s said to be haunted by the ghost of a former miner, which adds an air of intrigue!

    Plus, visitors can enjoy a cold drink on the patio while soaking in the fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. I might take a seat on the railing, after all, I’m a duck who knows how to relax!

    Don’t miss the charming shops housing unique souvenirs, artisan crafts, and local artwork.

    The Wild West feel remains alive, with locals often donning period costumes that transport you back to the town’s heyday.

    If you’re lucky, you might catch a live cowboy show or some lively music, complete with toe-tapping fiddle tunes!

    Speaking of music, be sure to check out the local saloon, where you can enjoy a taste of old-time Western hospitality along with cold refreshments.

    It’s a fantastic spot to mingle with other travellers and hear the stories of those who’ve come to this historic landmark.

    Perhaps the most delightful aspect of my visit was encountering the famous Oatman burros, yes, those adorable donkeys!

    They’re quite the celebrities here!

    Descendants of the pack animals used by gold miners, these gentle creatures roam freely through the town, adding a touch of charm and liveliness.

    Visitors love feeding them carrots and snapping plenty of photos, and who could resist?

    I mean, who wouldn’t want to take a picture with a friendly donkey?

    We actually thought we had missed them, but just as we were heading out of town, there they were, surrounding us for our apples!

    As I bob around, soaking up the atmosphere of Oatman, I can’t help but feel the sense of community and the spirit of adventure that brought people here over a century ago.

    We only had time for a quick drive through this time.

    We will return one day to fully experience the history, the burros, and the overall Americana that Oatman has to offer.

    Gather around as I let you know about our pit stop at the Canalta Hotel in Martensville, Saskatchewan. 

    My humans and I were in the middle of an exhilarating road trip from the vibrant streets of Vancouver, BCback home to Winnipeg, Manitoba.

    We were ready for a rest as we pulled into the Saskatoon area.

    Did we hit the jackpot when we found the Canalta Hotel Martensville!

    Let me tell you a bit about the Canalta Hotels.

    This family-owned and operated hotel group has been making waves in the hospitality industry since 1974,

    Thanks to the foundational work and work ethic of Cam and Sharlene Christianson and their sons, Blair and Brooke.

    With over 40 locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, this company provides weary travellers with exceptional service. Additionally, they add a cozy touch!

    As we waddled through the welcoming doors of the Canalta Hotel, we could feel the warmth radiating from the staff.

    With smiles as bright as the sun, they made us feel right at home!

    And let’s not forget their delightful collection of tiny trolls – oh, how I enjoyed meeting those little guys!

    It was like a party of pint-sized pals!

    Now, let’s dive into the hotel itself!

    The Canalta Martensville sparkled with a freshness that made it feel brand new, even though it opened in 2014.

    When we reached our room, I was blown away by the cleanliness; it was nothing short of immaculate!

    The comfy beds were my first stop as I snuggled into those soft linens. I was ready to drift into a dream-filled slumber.

    And oh, the amenities!

    I stumbled upon a cozy nook by the window, perfect for contemplating all the mysteries of the universe. Meanwhile, my humans went on and on about the mouthwatering breakfast spread!

    I couldn’t help but hear the delicious buzz about fluffy pancakes. Also, I savoured the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting through the air.

    The Canalta Martensville truly has it all!

    With spacious rooms, a swimming pool, a hot tub, and a steam room, it’s a place where relaxation takes center stage.

    Plus, there’s high-speed internet for those who want to post their adventures. There is even a fitness facility to work off those indulgent pancakes!

    As our stay drew to a close, with a quack and a wave, I bid farewell to the fantastic staff whose hospitality had filled our hearts with joy!

    They made our night unforgettable, and I left feeling like I had gained a few new friends along the way.

    A Town for all Seasons – Revelstoke, British Columbia

    Bob here to quack about our pit stop in the delightful town of Revelstoke, BC!

    It was a beautiful evening in May 2025, when we spent a night in Revelstoke on our journey from the coastal city of Vancouver, BC, to the edge of the prairies, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

    As we rolled into Revelstoke, we were immediately charmed by its cozy vibe and breathtaking scenery.

    Nestled right by the mighty Columbia River and surrounded by the majestic Selkirk Mountains, this place felt like a storybook come to life!

    My humans and I explored the town and stumbled upon some incredible gems.

    First up was Mount Revelstoke National Park, just a stone’s throw north. Imagine me floating in a little pond, surrounded by towering trees and vibrant wildflowers.

    Bliss! And the skiing? Oh boy, this town is a winter wonderland too! I couldn’t help but dream about zipping down those snowy slopes.

    Did you know Revelstoke holds the record for the snowiest winter ever? Over 24 meters of snow! That’s enough to build a duck-sized snow fort!

    Oh, and the history here? Fascinating!

    Starting out as a railway hub back in the 1880s, Revelstoke originally bore the name “Farwell,” thanks to a nearby land surveyor.

    But when the Canadian Pacific Railway rolled in, they decided to honour Lord Revelstoke, and the rest is history! If only we had time to explore the charming railway museum, we could soak up all those fun facts!

    As I waddled along Revelstoke’s charming streets, my eyes landed on the Wooden Head—a quirky statue that instantly captured my rubbery heart!

    Standing tall and proud, this enormous totem-like figure was installed as a safety warning along the beautiful but sometimes treacherous BC mountain highway in the 1960’s.

    Made entirely of wood, it was basically a catchy way to say don’t be a WOODEN HEAD when travelling on the highway.

    In 2005 with construction on the highway, Woodenhead was moved to town. 

    It’s not just a landmark; it’s a delightful reminder of the stories that shape this enchanting town.

    Even though it wasn’t winter, the spirit of adventure was electrifying!

    Outdoor enthusiasts were everywhere, biking, hiking, and soaking up the stunning landscapes.

    I heard whispers of nearby black bears and grizzlies, their majestic presence adding an extra thrill to our escapades!

    And you know what? That clever electric fence at the garbage dump? Brilliant!

    After all that adventure, we kicked back in the outdoor hot tub at the Stoke Hotel.

    Oh boy, what a treat! Surrounded by towering mountains, I pondered, how on earth do folks ever find time to work in a place this spectacular? Waking up to such breathtaking views must make every day an invitation for a new adventure!

    As we soaked in the warm bubbles and took in the crisp mountain air, I couldn’t help but dream of all the thrilling escapades just waiting for us.

    Especially those wintery slopes calling my name! For now, though, I was more than happy just to bob about, soaking up the bliss of this enchanted little spot.

    This town truly dazzles in every season, and I can’t wait to quack about my incredible adventure to all my pals back in the bathtub!

    Savour the Journey – Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri

    Have you ever paused to truly savour the journey?

    As a rubber duck on a motorbike adventure, I have a unique perspective, along for the ride with my human, Goldie, and their open-road curiosity.

    While reaching a destination is thrilling, it’s the journey that really makes the trip worthwhile!

    Recently, we set off for the Lake of the Ozarks Bike Fest in Missouri – all 17 hours of it!

    Just me, floating along in the wind, while Goldie revved up the engine for a weekend bursting with fun and frolicking.

    Now, let me take you down memory lane!

    You may recall some of our memorable stops along this route:

    discovering the quirky Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota

    enjoying the historical excellence at Arris’ Pizza in Jefferson City, Missouri

    indulging in authentic Mexican fare at Acapulco in Fargo, North Dakota

    marveling at BOB the Bridge in Omaha, Nebraska

    While we could have easily gotten lost in every roadside attraction, but we had somewhat of a schedule to keep.

    One of my favourite parts? Meeting some fantastic new friends along the journey!

    Spirit of Adventure – Christmas, Michigan

    Bob here, and I’m bubbling with excitement to share about a little gem we stumbled upon while drifting from Winnipeg, Manitoba, to visit family in Ottawa, Ontario: Christmas, Michigan!

    As we glided eastward, my little rubber eyes spotted a sign that made my beak wiggle with glee, “Welcome to Christmas!”

    Can you believe it? A town named after my favourite holiday!

    Of course, we had to make a quick stop! With a name like Christmas, how could we resist?

    As I held onto my humans, we snapped pictures with a 35-foot-tall Santa, posed next to Frosty the Snowman, and even checked out the North Pole mile marker.

    Oh, and let’s not forget the adorable little red “Harley” car!

    The place may have a tiny population of about 400, but it felt like we were in a magical wonderland filled with festive cheer and charm. 

    We continued on our journey East with Christmas in our rearview mirror.

    Intrigued and a bit enchanted, I dove into the history of this quirky community tucked along the stunning shores of Lake Superior.

    Christmas, Michigan, was founded by Julius Thorson from Munising back in 1938 when he opened a factory for holiday-themed products.

    Sadly, a fire in 1940 extinguished his festive operation, but the town’s spirit stayed alive!

    Now, it’s a delightful playground of Christmas wonders, with Santa decorations, merry street names, and businesses echoing holiday cheer throughout all seasons.

    Speaking of seasons, this charming spot offers something for everyone!

    In the summer, you can soak up the sun on pristine beaches, paddle the clear waters of Lake Superior, or hike the breathtaking trails of Hiawatha National Forest.

    When winter blankets the ground with 200 inches of snow, grab your cross-country skis or hop on a snowmobile for a thrilling ride through a sparkling winter wonderland!

    Or if you are really adventurous, try your skills at ice-climbing!

    Just five miles away lies the stunning Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, ideal for an adventurous morning kayak trip!

    Uncle Ducky Outdoors provides a cozy glamping experience where you can rent kayaks and canoes to splash around those gorgeous waters.

    Oh, how I would love to paddle alongside new pals!

    And let’s not forget about the iconic Grand Island West Channel Rear Range Light!

    This historic lighthouse stands tall, casting its guiding light across Lake Superior, ready to lead adventurers back to shore!

    For year-round entertainment, there is the Kewadin Casino Christmas!

    My humans would love to try their luck there! 

    Though I’m too young for the games, I heard whispers of a delightful eatery called Frosty’s Bar & Grill. Food and fun wrapped in holiday festivities? Count me in!

    Here’s something extra festive: on July 8, 1966, Christmas got its very own post office!

    It’s a hotspot where visitors flock to send out holiday cards stamped with the joyous “Christmas, Michigan” postmark.

    And get this, you don’t even have to travel to send your greetings! You can find all the details online to have your cards mailed straight from Christmas!

    I can’t shake the excitement of returning to Christmas, Michigan, to experience its wonders!

    It’s astounding how much magic is packed into such a small town.

    Who knows, maybe we’ll venture back during the holiday season when everything glimmers with a special spark!

    Non-Human Friends – North America

    What a quacking adventure this year has been for me!

    I’ve paddled through parts of North America, experiencing new sights, thrills, and most importantly, making friends, both human and not.

    Grab your floaties; let me take you on a splashy recap of my non-human greetings!

    First up are my fabulous pals, Harley and Honey, the dynamic duo in sunny Florida, who belong to the Badger family. Oh boy, where do I start?

    Harley the cat is a real cool customer! She struts around with the confidence of a queen but only allows cuddles on her terms. It’s like playing hide-and-seek with a feline overlady: one minute she’s all “pet me,” and the next, poof! She’s vanished.

    Now, Honey, bless her heart, is the total opposite, a playful little furball of muscle who practically screams for attention! She’s all about tug-of-war and belly rubs, making it clear that she and Harley run the show!  My human did have to make it clear that BOB is not a snack for her!

    Then I stumbled upon something super unique in Great Falls, Montana. Picture this: painted buffalo statues are scattered all over the city!

    They even created a buffalo hunt, it’s like a treasure map but with more legs and less search party!

    Roaming around town while hunting these beauties was a blast!

    And who could forget my adventure with the island chickens in Key West?

    I finally figured out the age-old question: why did the chicken cross the road?

    To get to the beach, of course!

    Those feathered friends know how to soak up the sun!

    My heart raced when I narrowly dodged the “real” jaws of an alligator at a souvenir shop in Orlando!

    Yikes! Lucky for me, my human swooped in to rescue me just in the nick of time. Talk about a close call!

    Then there were the magnificent dinosaurs in Drumheller, Alberta.

    Wowza! Surrounded by stunning landscapes, it felt like stepping back in time.

    And I can’t forget the curious camel who snuck up on my humans in Florida.

    Talk about unexpected company!

    Each animal encounter added exciting memories to my little ducky mind!

    Whether it was Smokey the Bear giving me a stern warning about forest fires,

    cheering on the pigs when I almost won in British Columbia,

    the giant fish in Ashland, Wisconsin, reminding us of the Great Lakes’ fishing wonder,

    or the turkey that made Christmas complete, what a ride!

    But I must tell you, my favourite moment of all had to be with my buddy Neil, the giraffe from Dade City, Florida.

    That guy’s charisma is off the charts! He knows how to steal the spotlight and will always have a special place in my rubbery heart.

    So, folks, if you’re ever out travelling, keep an eye out for our non-human pals.

    They’ll add an unforgettable splash of fun to your adventures, trust me, the BOBortunities are endless!

    Bob here, just from an absolutely splashing three-night getaway at the delightful C’Mon Inn in Fargo, North Dakota!

    Let me tell you, it was a quacking good time from start to finish!

    Walking into the lobby felt like stepping into a cozy Texas ranch.

    The expansive common area, complete with gorgeous wood railings and a stunning staircase, instantly made me feel at home.

    And oh, the greenery and sound of water bubbling in the hot tubs just added to the welcoming atmosphere. This motel truly lives up to its name!

    The moment we waddled in, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the assistant and general managers.

    Together, they answered our many questions about the hotel’s rich background while sharing the highlights of their sister locations.

    Their demeanor was perfectly inviting, making me feel like I was the guest of honor! It was as if they were truly delighted to see me splashing in!

    The welcome vibe did not end there; every staff member we encountered displayed a dedication to outstanding, heartwarming service.

    I cannot say enough about a level of enthusiasm that is second to none!

    Now, let’s dive into the excellent amenities, starting with HOT TUBS!

    The real star of the show, especially for a water-loving duck, was the five luxurious hot tubs.

    Each soak was like a mini-vacation after a day of exploring!

    Four of the hot tubs were located in the beautiful common area of C’Mon Inn!

    The inviting, spacious common area quickly became our favourite hangout spot: perfect for socializing or lounging around.

    The charming rustic vibe, complete with a western theme, truly felt like a slice of the Wild West, and I couldn’t get enough of it!

    The pristine swimming pool was another highlight, with plenty of space for both energetic splashes and leisurely lounging.

    And if you’re in the mood for a little friendly competition, there’s a ping pong table waiting for you to challenge your friends!

    Whether it’s a game of skill or luck in the games room, there’s something for everyone.

    Plus, there’s even a fully equipped exercise room for burning off all those delicious vacation treats.

    And it you still have energy there is a business center for catch up on work.

    A complimentary breakfast awaited us every morning in the breakfast nook!

    Tasty pastries,

    Fresh juices,

    Fluffy eggs,

    Steaming coffee

    Hot waffles,

    Hearty biscuits and gravy,

    and a variety of proteins.

    You certainly had an energized start to the day!

    The lovely lady managing the breakfast area was fantastic and so accommodating, making it a joy to start our days chatting with fellow travellers and sharing stories.

    Have you ever wondered what those wild bikers get up to after a day full of roaring engines and thrilling rides during the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri Bikefest?

    Buckle up, because you’re in for a treat!

    Let me start by giving a big shout-out to Sonny and Angie, the founders of Badger and Biker Lifestyle and Support Bikers!

    These two legends wrangled together a fabulous lakefront Airbnb in Osage Beach, perfect for a biker crew of 15. At first, I felt a bit like a fish out of water. What would I do in such a bustling house?

    But soon enough, I realized that sharing space with this vibrant pack was the key to experiencing the true after-party of a rally.

    What could be better than a peaceful corner of the Ozarks with a stunning view of the shimmering lake, where the sunrises are so breathtaking they’ll make your heart sing!

    After a day zooming through twisting roads, the bikers rode right back to our little paradise, ready to bask in the afterglow of the sun, splash in the pool, and swap stories that would become legends.

    Oh, how I loved floating around, soaking up the good vibes while the humans chattered away about their wild rides and close calls!

    Let me tell you, the space was perfect!

    Multiple bedrooms and a massive living area meant there was plenty of room for the bikers to spread out.

    The laughter echoed through the halls. I felt like the lucky mascot of this incredible crew!

    I quacked in delight as they shared their escapades, from tight corners to hilarious misadventures, living vicariously through their tales.

    And then there was the pool… oh, the pool! What a splashtastic oasis!

    After hours on their bikes, the humans lounged by or in the water, while I bobbed around in my little corner like a king. The sun kissed my rubbery surface, and the laughter bounced off the water like gentle waves. Pure joy radiated all around us!

    As twilight crawled in, our band of bikers gathered around the dining table, diving into delicious take-out pizza and some crispy chicken (my human’s favourite).

    With bikes parked safely for the night, the camaraderie soared to new heights; hearty laughs and stories turned into the bonds of family.

    Some bikers spent time polishing their rides or doing little fixes, while others caught up on work stuff or chatted with loved ones who couldn’t join the rally.

    But once the day’s tasks were complete, the real magic happened.

    The spirit of community came alive.

    Whether it was under a blanket of stars by the pool

    or tucked away in one of the cozy living spaces,

    This gathering wasn’t just another bike rally; it was a celebration of friendship, the creation of lasting bonds, and the formation of memories that would last a lifetime.

    So, wild bikers?  Well, not so much!

    But if you want the ultimate bike rally experience, gather a crew of like-minded bikers.

    First off, let’s talk about the location. Nestled right off Interstate 70, the Best Western is a perfect pit stop for road warriors, families on a getaway, or those attending events in Columbia.

    With its proximity to local attractions like the University of Missouri, the historic district, and beautiful parks, you’ll be right in the heart of the action, ready to explore!

    Now, let’s glide into the accommodations.

    Our room was just what we needed, perfect for the whole family or even just a duo like my human and me.

    The bed was oh-so-comfy, making me feel like I was on a cloud.

    We had everything we needed: a flat-screen TV, a microwave, and a refrigerator.

    And did I mention the free Wi-Fi? It’s perfect for sharing your travel tales with friends back home!

    Hey there, fellow adventure lovers! Bob here, excited to share my latest motel experience at The Sturgis Motel in Sturgis, South Dakota.  My human and I made the trip down from Winnipeg to meet up with the Support Bikers crew and make memories during the Legendary 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

    The worst part of travelling is not being able to sleep in your own comfy nest every night…But The Sturgis Motel, with Rhonda at the helm, bridged the gap beautifully.  This visit was not my first at The Sturgis Hotel, so my expectations were very high, and once again, I was not disappointed.

    From the moment I arrived, Rhonda welcomed me with such warmth and friendliness that it felt like I was visiting an old friend! She was very busy with all the riders descending upon Sturgis, but she took the time to share a laugh and make sure I was nestled down for my stay.

    Now, let’s talk about the room. My room was so spacious, my human was able to share with a fellow rider who had missed booking for enough nights.

    The ultra-cozy bed was a perfect place for my human to stretch out and easily drift off for a much-needed rest after the long ride to Sturgis. 

    Everything was spotless and quiet, making it a lovely little retreat after all the daily excitement of the rally.

    An appreciated convenience feature of The Sturgis Motel is the on-site laundry facilities. Travelling by motorcycle is terrific, but it leaves little room for extra clothing. After a day of riding along the beautiful highways, my human being able to clean up his gear is such a treat.

    Rhonda really went the extra mile for all her guests during the rally. On top of her usual care, every morning, she arrived with a full breakfast on hand that would make anyone’s mouth water!

    Thick stacks of fluffy pancakes, perfectly scrambled eggs, and crispy sausages, all made fresh to fuel those eager riders gearing up for another day of rally rides and festivities. 

    I have no idea how she made the time to prepare all this food, but it was a delicious start to our day!

    The Sturgis Motel is more than just a place to sleep; it’s a welcoming stop for anyone looking to dive into the thrilling atmosphere of the rally and explore the stunning Black Hills.

    With Rhonda’s incredible hospitality, the spacious and comfortable rooms, and the handy laundry, it’s a perfect spot for adventurers, a true treasure right in the heart of Sturgis!

    Have you ever waddled into a Content Creator Meet-up during the legendary Sturgis Bike Rally?

    Let me tell you, as Bob the Rubber Duck, it’s a quacking exhilarating experience when all these creative minds step away from their screens and dive into the vibrant chaos of the real world.

    Who can top a blend of motorcycles, friendship, and a splash of wild antics!

    At the Buffalo Chip’s Camp Zero, I found myself floating among an ocean of inventive humans, all buzzing with electric excitement. They say what happens in Sturgis stays in Sturgis, but let me assure you, when a gaggle of content creators gathers with cameras flashing and laughter echoing, you can bet it’s anything but forgettable!

    As I bobbed around, I quickly realized that I’m a content creator too!

    If you’ve ever snapped a fuzzy photo or shared a silly story, you’re one of us!

    Many of my new friends were seasoned pros, spinning tales of collaboration and community that painted a picture of strength and imagination. It’s true what they say: joining forces makes our creations brighter and bolder!

    Now, let’s dive into the atmosphere!

    Camp Zero at the world-famous Buffalo Chip was alive with thrill and revelry as fellow content creators gathered. This iconic venue, which blossomed from a humble 20-acre plot back in 1981 to a 600-acre playground for bikers, welcomed us with open arms. The energy was infectious! Just picture it: a sea of motorcycle enthusiasts wielding recording devices, all fueled by a love for fun!

    And oh, the shenanigans! My squeaky little heart could hardly take it!

    We kicked off the festivities with the legendary watermelon popping contest! Imagine adults with rubber bands stretched to the max around a watermelon, inches away from exploding. It was hysterical! I bounced back with anticipation every time a new band was added…then BOOM! Watermelon chunks flew everywhere, and oh, what a mess!

    Then we had the indoor-outdoor mini bike water cup challenge, a test of skill and balance! Participants maneuvered through an obstacle course while trying their hardest not to spill a drop. Some ended up drenched with empty glasses, but a few highly skilled contenders splashed their way to victory. Talk about precision and laughter galore!

    The outdoor events revved up the excitement!

    The beer keg rodeo had participants zipping around on mini bikes, pushing kegs through goalposts in a riotous race for bragging rights.

    And how could I resist joining the classic water balloon fight? I mean, when you’re a rubber duck, splashing around is in your DNA! There was hardly a dry feather on the grounds!

    All of this merriment unfolded against a backdrop of live music.

    Coupled with frosty beverages, and laughter that echoed for miles, cementing friendships and crafting unforgettable memories.

    It is not just about creating content; it is about connection, collaboration, and pure, unadulterated joy.

    That’s the magic of Sturgis.

    Where creativity flows as freely as the drinks, and the spirit of camaraderie knows no limits.

    My human and I made this delightful detour on our way to the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and oh, what an experience it was!

    From the moment we waddled into the lobby, I was blown away by the warm welcome. We received friendly smiles from the staff that felt like a warm hug after a long day on the road. It’s not every day you find a team that genuinely cares. However, this crew hit all the right notes!

    Now, let’s dive into our spacious room!

    My human and I had all the space we needed to stretch our flippers and unwind.

    The room was clean, cozy, and equipped with everything we could wish for. This was so reassuring when you’re travelling with all your adventure gear. Seriously, nothing beats arriving at your overnight hotel choice to find it exactly as you expected. 

    At the Best Western Watertown, the pool area was splash-tastic!

    This hotel had not one but three separate pools, depending on your preference. You could swim, wade, or slide.  Just imagine arriving with your family and finding a thrilling water slide. There is also a bubbling hot tub, and even a water playhouse!

    The little humans would be over the moon! Sadly, my human wasn’t feeling the swim vibe after our long ride. So, I had to content myself with daydreams of belly flops and cannonballs. After all that road time, he wanted to shower off, kick back, and grab a bite to munch on instead.

    After a comfy, restful night, we awoke to the enticing aroma of breakfast drifting into our room. As you know, a good breakfast can set the stage for an epic day of adventure. Best Western Watertown delivered with a breakfast spread that was fit for a duck! We feasted on deliciousness, fueling up for our day ahead.

    My humans and I spent two fantastic nights at the Best Western option in Sioux Falls on our journey from Winnipeg to Eureka Springs for the Badger Bash, and it was just what we needed!

    As I waddled into the lobby, bright and cheerful like only a rubber duck can be, it was immediately clear that this place had a heart as big as its welcoming atmosphere.

    The walls were adorned with joyful snapshots of my furry friends, each one showcasing their playful antics and jubilant spirits. I couldn’t help but quack with glee!

    But that wasn’t all, I noticed an art auction display dedicated to a cause near and dear to many: supporting the American Cancer Society.

    It warmed my little rubber heart to see such creativity and compassion coming together.

    Like a vibrant splash of colour and purpose, this lobby is not just a pass-through but a celebration of kindness and community. I knew I was in a truly special place!

    From the moment we arrived, it was smooth sailing at the Best Western hotel in Sioux Falls. Our room was spacious and cozy, allowing us to settle in comfortably after a long day of travel. Everything was pristine and just as inviting as I had hoped: a true welcoming atmosphere for a rubber duck on the go!

    The pool area was an absolute splash! After a day of exploring the city, there was nothing better than taking a dip to unwind. My favourite part? Watching my human enjoy some relaxation while I floated around, dreaming of aquatic adventures.

    And let’s not forget breakfast! The complimentary spread was simply delightful. There were so many tasty options to choose from, fueling us up perfectly for our daily explorations around Sioux Falls.

As I bob along in the charming atmosphere of this cozy motel, I can truly feel the heart and soul poured into it by the family who owns and operates it. Their motto, “We make you feel at home,” is not just words but a delightful reality!  There is nothing more satisfying than a home away from home when you are on the road.

    The Trails Inn offers a perfect spot for guests visiting the area who are out and about all day. They want a worry-free place to nest for the night…or for many nights.  We were recently in the area for Badger Bash 2025. Sonny and Angie had established The Trails Inn as the home base for the crew and any attendees who chose to book.

    The rooms were nothing short of sparkling clean and contained everything we needed for the night. This was especially appreciated when we returned from exploring!

    The cozy and quiet environment both in the room and on the property was ideal. It provided every opportunity to unwind after a day of exhilarating adventures.

    My favourite spot, of course, was the full-sized pool…who does not like to paddle around in the water to cool down? 

    The humans took full advantage of the pool and the spacious deck. They would meet after dinner and share stories of the day. 

    The family vibe here is not just a slogan; it’s a way of life. The owners are on site from early in the morning, making their guests feel like part of the family. This is evident in all the thoughtful amenities they provide. From the delightful continental breakfast featuring coffee, juice, and muffins to the attention they pay in maintaining the property. It’s clear they take pride in their business.

    When it comes to dining out, guests of The Trails Inn are in for a treat! There are fabulous restaurants nearby that cater to every taste bud. Whether you’re in the mood for a

    We arrived much earlier than the usual check-in time, but the welcoming staff were absolutely incredible.

    They immediately made us feel right at home by accommodating us with a cozy spot in the lobby while they hustled to get our room ready.

    Their friendliness set the tone for our stay and had me feeling quite special as a rubber duck!

    The Best Western itself was a delight. You could see the immaculate care they take of the hotel, everything was spotless!

    The grounds were adorned with beautiful greenery, meticulously sculpted to create a serene atmosphere that reminded me of a spa retreat.

    As I floated around the property, I enjoyed the peaceful vibe, perfect for a bit of rubber duckie relaxation.

    After a hot June day of riding, nothing felt better than taking a refreshing dip in the pool!

    It was the ideal way to unwind after a long day of travel.

    The comfy seating options around the pool were perfect for lounging and soaking up the ambiance.

    When it came to food, we were thrilled to find a variety of great dining options just a short drive away.

    After our swim, we decided to order takeout from Hugo’s, savouring some tasty dishes that made our stop even more enjoyable.

    Finally, it was time to settle down for the night.

    We melted into the oh so comfy bed as we prepared for an early start to meet up with the Badgers first thing in the morning in Eureka Springs.

    Unfortunately, our planned departure time was before the complimentary breakfast at the Best Western Windsor Suites.

    Still, I would bet my yellow feathers that it was as amazing as the rest of our experience.

    Best Western Windsor Suites displayed outstanding hospitality, immaculate facilities, and beautiful surroundings.

    It’s a shining example of what a great hotel stay should be like.

    Now, let me dive into the juicy updates since my last visit. First off, Hank and Mary have been busy little bees creating a brand-new theme room dedicated to John Deere.

    Yes, that legendary green farming machine! Imagine snuggling into a comfy bed while soaking up the spirit of American agriculture. It’s like bedtime in a tractor!

    And wait for it… They’re also working on a Harley-Davidson-themed room inspired by Hank’s love for those roaring motorcycles.

    Vroom Vroom!

    A room with biker vibes while I float around, hearing tales of the open road.

    But that’s not all, folks! Hank’s passion for biking isn’t just stopping there. He’s whipping up a biker social room right at the motel. Get this: a cozy hangout where guests can enjoy free beer! Imagine the stories and camaraderie bubbling up in that space, like a good bath!

    Hank and Mary are clearly not just resting on their laurels; they’re innovating and evolving, making sure their little corner of Mound City stays hopping. When cruising through Missouri, don’t miss the chance to book a stay at Audrey’s Motel.

    What an exhilarating evening I just had at the motorcycle meet-up for Support Bikers Nebraska in the delightful town of Elmwood!

    As I waddled into the transformed fire hall, the place buzzed with camaraderie and positivity, all thanks to the sensational Jared Joshua.

    This guy is like the ultimate magnet for people, and his grilling prowess? Absolutely legendary!

    When the mouthwatering aroma of sizzling smokies danced in the air, the bikers lined up with appetites piqued. Jared, along with his amazing family, ensured that no bike enthusiast left with an empty stomach.

    Honestly, it was heartwarming to watch everyone come together, sharing belly laughs and engaging tales.

    The atmosphere bubbling with friendship and support.

    I had a blast rallying some brave riders to snap photos with me!

    Dressed head-to-toe in their leather gear, they embraced my quirky charisma, adding a splash of fun to the already jubilant evening.

    The bond among the attendees was electric, their encouragement and shared passion truly filled my little rubber heart with joy.

    Support Bikers, guided by the dynamic Sonny and Angie Badger, is a wonderful community built by riders for riders. This group is dedicated to connecting bikers worldwide!

    My good human pal, Rick, serves as a national ambassador for Support Bikers, overseeing a few states including Nebraska.

    Meanwhile, Jared, the state ambassador for Nebraska, is also a member of motorcycle-ordained pastors!

    Witnessing the blessings bestowed on several bikes was a spiritually uplifting moment that added a unique touch to the festivities.

    As the event wound down, I felt wrapped in a warm cloak of community spirit and happiness.

    It’s not merely about the motorcycles; it’s the connections we forge and the memories we create along the journey.

    Now, let’s dive into the nitty-gritty of the hotel!

    Our room was cozy and oh-so-inviting, a perfect haven for a little waterfowl like me after a long day on the road.

    Glimmering waters and gleeful kiddos splashing around created a joyous atmosphere.

    Thrilling waterslides beckoned daring ducklings, so I just had to take the plunge!

    Road Trip from Vancouver to Winnipeg – Western Canada

    What an incredible journey it has been waddling along the Trans-Canada Highway from Vancouver, BC, to Winnipeg, Manitoba!

    Travelling through western Canada on this route was like floating through a patchwork quilt of stunning landscapes. Each one seemed more breathtaking than the last.

    We kicked off our adventure in Vancouver. Here, the majestic coastal mountains kissed the sky, and the lush greenery enveloped us.

    As we made our way east, our first stop was in Hope, BC.

    The charming little town was a perfect pause. Moreover, the towering mountains around us and the rushing rivers reminded me of the rugged beauty that embodies British Columbia.

    After a delightful lunch, we continued our journey and headed to Revelstoke, BC, for dinner and an overnight stay.

    As we drove through the Selkirk Mountains, the landscape transformed into a captivating blend. It consisted of dense forests, mountainous terrains, and cascading waterfalls.

    I floated with excitement at the sight of the snow-capped peaks glistening in the sunlight, a true highlight for any adventurer.

    The next day’s drive took us across the border into Alberta and through the stunning Rocky Mountain foothills.

    Next stop – an overnight stay in Drumheller.

    This area was remarkable for its unique badlands, with striking red rock formations that looked like a spectacular painting.

    Moving on to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, we witnessed a shift again. The terrain became flatter, with rolling fields that stretched out as far as the eye could see.

    The wide-open skies filled with fluffy clouds added a serene beauty to the prairie landscape.

    This was the heart of the Canadian prairies, and I enjoyed watching the farmland bring prepared for the planting season.

    Finally, it was time to waddle home to Winnipeg.

    By this point, I had truly experienced the diverse beauty of Canada. It spanned from the coastal mountains to the badlands and the tranquil prairies.

    We were passing through Revelstoke on our journey back to Winnipeg from Vancouver, and once again, choosing a member of the Best Western chain of hotels did not disappoint.

    From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we experienced a unique mountain town vibe. The warm welcome we received, complete with friendly smiles and a rustic atmosphere, set the tone for our entire stay.

    Our room, with its private outdoor entrance, was a cozy haven that had everything we needed for a comfortable night. The impeccable cleanliness and the soft pillows made it feel like my very own nest in the mountains, giving me just what I needed to relax after a long day of travel.

    Speaking of adventures, let’s hop into the outdoor hot tub! What a dreamy spot! Surrounded by majestic mountain vistas and the crisp, clean air, it was pure bliss to soak in the bubbling warmth. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of driving, rejuvenating while gazing at the stunning backdrop, truly a duck’s paradise!

    After a restful night’s sleep, we were eager to start our day with the complimentary breakfast. The breakfast room, adorned with unique murals and stained-glass windows, added a touch of history to our morning. The spread was a feast fit for a discerning rubber duck, with tasty quiche, crispy bacon, shredded hash browns, and delectable fresh muffins. I couldn’t contain my excitement as I filled my little duck belly with such delightful treats!

    My stay at The Stoke Hotel in Revelstoke was nothing short of fantastic.

    Bob here, sharing my quacktastic voyage on the legendary BC Ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo!

    We woke up at the crack of dawn, 4 am to be exact, springing into action like we were training for a race. We were not going to be late for the 6:15 am sailing.

    As we rolled up to Horseshoe Bay, I felt a bubbly anticipation bubbling in my little rubber heart.

    The crew on the BC Ferry greeted us with smiles that could light up the darkest ocean depths.

    Everything flowed like the gentle waves we were about to sail upon.

    On schedule and ready to go, so off we went.

    Once we were out on the sapphire waters, oh boy!

    The views were like stepping into a living postcard.

    From the towering mountains looming majestically in the distance, to the skies so blue they could rival my own vibrant hues.

    The shoreline was dressed in lush greenery, making me wonder what delightful secrets each tree was whispering.

    Every splash of water against the ferry made me giggle with joy!

    The fresh air piqued appetites so off to the the onboard café.

    The delicious aromas wafting through the deck were downright irresistible.

    My humans sprang for hearty snacks, and I floated ever closer, trying to sneak a peek at their mouthwatering goodies.

    From crisp salads to warm, flaky pastries, my taste buds quacked with excitement just imagining the delightful flavours.

    I could almost taste their joy!

    Every human and even the travelling pets seemed to bask in this joyous atmosphere, and you bet I was quacking right alongside them!

    As we approached Nanaimo, I could hardly contain my excitement for the next chapter of our adventure.

    Our ferry ride was more than just a means to an end; it was a kaleidoscope of experiences filled with friendly faces, breathtaking views, and scrumptious treats.

    In a nutshell, my BC Ferry experience from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo was an absolute quack-tacular success!

    With a crew that operated like a dream, stunning scenery that made my heart flutter, and delicious food that made me bob with delight, this adventure was the perfect start to our Vancouver Island escapade!

    Bob here to take you on an adventure through the delightful Parksville Community Park on Vancouver Island!

    I recently floated my way over to this enchanting spot, and I couldn’t wait to share my colourful experience with you!

    Nestled by the sparkling Salish Sea, this park is a crown jewel of Parksville. In fact, it is a little slice of paradise just waiting to be explored.

    As I waddled along the beautiful shoreline, I watched humans skipping stones across the water. Laughter rang through the air as they created delightful splashes. Oh, how I wished I could join in on the fun, but I was content just bobbing along!

    My morning began with a warm cup of coffee, well, not for me, but for my human friends, at one of the cozy sitting areas. The park is dotted with benches that offer a perfect view of the breathtaking landscapes. In addition, while sipping their brew, my companions and I took a moment to soak in the beauty around us.

    What’s even more impressive is the rich history of this place.

    Established in 1963, the park has a charming backstory. It includes a humble beginning thanks to the efforts of the women from the Parksville Women’s Institute.

    Their determination transformed this beautiful waterfront area into the recreational haven it is today. Just beyond the playground, you can almost feel the echoes of history mingling with the breezy air.

    As I bounced along the paths, I marvelled at how this park isn’t just a haven for relaxation but also a hub of community spirit.

    Although the park was serene during my visit, it is not always the case.

    Throughout the year, it hosts festivals and events that bring residents and visitors together, filling the air with excitement.

    A massive shoutout to everyone who frequents the park – the cleanliness is amazing! I guess everyone assures they feed the uniquely painted garbage receptacles….GREAT WORK!

    Whether you’re in the mood for a peaceful day by the water, some fun stone-skipping, or want to people-watch while soaking in the natural beauty, Parksville Community Park is the place to be!

    Doc Holliday’s Roadhouse – Williston, North Dakota

    Buckle up for a wild ride through my latest adventure at Doc Holliday’s Roadhouse in the heart of Williston, North Dakota!

    As Bob the Rubber Duck, I may not fit the mold of your ordinary diner. However, trust me, this place is downright splash-tastic!

    I’m cruising down 2nd Avenue, and my little rubbery heart is racing with excitement. Then, lo and behold, I spot what looks like a stampede of wild buffalo charging through town!

    But as I rolled closer, I realized these were no ordinary buffalo; they were life-sized metal sculptures, glistening in the sun. 

    The scene felt like a page from the Wild West, complete with cowboys, Indians, and even a stagecoach! 

    My humans couldn’t resist pulling into the parking lot to investigate the magic behind this quirky display.

    This amazing display comes from the owner of Doc Holliday’s Roadhouse. Since it was just opening up, we ventured in to check it out!

    Stepping into Doc Holliday’s, I was immediately immersed in a vibrant pool of Western-Mexican charm. It was spiked with a passion for motorcycles and sprinkled with vintage signage as well.

    The decor was a unique blend that piqued my curiosity and set the stage for a memorable dining experience. 

    The walls proudly display over 1,000 cowboy boots, each with a story to tell.  Hand-painted cow skulls and license plates from all over the U.S.A. add to the charm.

    We were fortunate to meet one of the restaurant’s founders, Marcus Jundt, a true dynamo! 

    His eyes sparkled as he shared the stories behind each quirky adornment. Furthermore, his passion for unique items that spark joy for everyone who walks through those doors was truly inspiring.

    With a track record of successful dining ventures, you can bet he knows how to whip up a good time!

    Now, let’s get to the mouthwatering main attraction, the FOOD!  Oh, my ducky goodness!

    The menu reads like a treasure map filled with culinary delights.

    The steaks?  Legendary!  Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right, I could almost taste the cowboy campfire flavour wafting through the air.

    And the burgers?  Each is a juicy masterpiece that takes the classic to a new level.

    Whether you’re a meat lover, a veggie fanatic, or somewhere in between, something scrumptious awaits you!

    And let’s not forget the cocktails! 

    The mixologists here are true artists, crafting concoctions that would excite even the most jaded palate.  They are the perfect accompaniment to the hearty meals. Moreover, just thinking about them has me bobbing in delight!

    Still have room left for dessert? How’s about a cowboy-sized ice cream sundae that could make any rubber duck swoon! 

    With about ten scoops of creamy goodness, it’s a dream come true.  Unfortunately, my humans weren’t ready to indulge on our visit, so I had to drool vicariously through the happy diners around us.
