Bob here with this week’s winning BOBortunity, and I’m shaking in my webbed feet!
Grant from Virginia, our Week 44 winner of the Get Your Bob On Contest, has invited us to explore the terrifyingly fun Fields of Fear at Cox Farms in Centreville, Virginia.

Grant says that as October approaches, he and his family eagerly anticipate discovering what frightening surprises await them at this popular Halloween attraction.

Apparently, Fields of Fear is so scary that some family members occasionally decide to sit out the haunted adventures and enjoy the farm’s less terrifying attractions instead.
Frankly, I don’t blame them, rubber ducks are brave, but we’re also highly squeakable!
For fearless visitors, the frightening fun begins with Cornightmare, a haunted journey through a dark cornfield where almost anything could be lurking between the stalks.

I’m accustomed to floating through calm ponds, so waddling through a field of whispering corn in the dark sounds positively quackers!

Next comes the Dark Side Hayride, where guests climb aboard for a nighttime ride filled with unexpected scares.
Hayrides are usually peaceful, but this one travels through the darker side of Cox Farms.
If you hear something rustling nearby, don’t look back; hold onto your feathers and keep your eyes facing forward!

Then there is The Forest, a haunted walk stretching more than half a mile through the woods.

Visitors may encounter spiders, chainsaws, and plenty of other frightening surprises along the way.
That’s a long way to waddle while being chased by things that go bump in the night.
Those who need a break from the biggest scares can gather at the Firegrounds!

Think bonfires, dancing, karaoke, food, entertainment, and a giant six-lane slide create a lively Halloween atmosphere.

I might perform a haunting rendition of “Rubber Duckie” at karaoke before taking a few speedy trips down the slide!

Visitors can also explore Foamhenge, Cox Farms’ life-size replica of Stonehenge made entirely from Styrofoam.

It’s mysterious, impressive, and an ideal place for a brave little rubber duck to pose for a picture, preferably with no ghosts lurking behind me.

Before heading home, everyone can waddle through the Fear Market!
You will find pumpkins, apples, cider, kettle corn, donuts, and Cox Farms merchandise.
After surviving haunted cornfields, dark hayrides, and terrifying forests, I think a warm donut and some apple cider would be a well-earned reward.

Fields of Fear certainly sounds like a frightfully fun October tradition for Grant and his family.
Whether you’re brave enough to face every haunted attraction…
…or prefer to enjoy the bonfires, food, Foamhenge, and festive atmosphere,

Cox Farms offers plenty of ways to celebrate the spooky season.

Big quacks of thanks to Grant for submitting this delightfully scary BOBortunity!
