Red River Zoo – Fargo, North Dakota

As I floated blissfully along the banks of the Red River, my little rubber duck heart was fluttering with excitement for my next grand adventure at the Red River Zoo in Fargo, North Dakota!

This enchanting wildlife haven is a treasure trove for curious critters like me, offering a chance to explore and learn about fascinating animals from every corner of the globe, all while soaking up the picturesque beauty of the Midwest.

Stepping into the zoo, I was welcomed by the warm smiles of the friendly staff, whose enthusiasm matched my own!

They clearly poured their hearts into caring for the animals, ensuring they were well-fed, healthy, and happy.

I was immediately greeted at the fence by my feathery friend, the majestic White Naped Crane. Did you know they’re bordering on extinction?

I felt a little quack of concern for their future. If only I could spread the word about these extraordinary birds to everyone who visited the zoo!

As I waddled along, I longed to meet the Bactrian Camels up close, but they were too busy soaking up the sun to notice a little duck like me floating by.

No worries, though, because the Sichuan Takins were putting on a delightful show, playfully engaging with one another!

I couldn’t help but stop and watch their antics; their fuzzy coats and cheerful playfulness were utterly contagious!

In my travels, I also encountered a Grey Wolf, who was busy showcasing his incredible howling skills. I attempted to join in, but my little quacks could hardly compare to that eerie, powerful sound! Oh, how I admired him from afar!

In 1998, Warren Diederich graciously donated this spinning delight.

His love for carousels stemmed from childhood memories of his neighbours fixing them and the joy he experienced riding one.

What a sweet way to share happiness with the children of Fargo-Moorhead!

As I bobbed along, soaking in the joy of the zoo, it quickly became clear that the Red River Zoo is much more than just a home for animals.

Their commitment to conservation, education, and fostering a connection between humans and wildlife makes for a vibrant community experience.
