Oh boy, am I one lucky duck that my humans landed at Rosie’s Café for breakfast!
In a search for local breakfast spots, Rosie’s Café popped up at the top of the list, boasting the holy grail of Home Cookin’.

We fired up Google Maps and hit the road toward breakfast bliss!

Rosie’s Café is a tad off the interstate, but it was well worth the extra 10 minutes!
The moment we waddled in, we were as welcome as the rain in a desert!
The friendly staff ushered us to our table, and before we could even shake off our coats, hot coffee was gleefully awaiting us.
Curiosity sparked, I asked one of the lovely ladies if she was Rosie.
She chuckled and explained that the original Rosie had run the café for nearly 40 years but had to move closer to her daughter for health reasons.

A new dynamic duo, Barry and Tom, took the reins of Rosie’s Café and opened their doors, keeping the menu close to its roots.

As the locals buzzed around us, it was clear Barry and Tom were already making their mark, having opened just in time for the holiday rush.
My humans were absolutely over the moon with the menu and made it a mission to sample a variety of the options!
One human dove right into the Rosie Platter.

A feast so grand it takes two plates!
Think eggs, sausages, breakfast potatoes, biscuits swimming in gravy, and a tower of fluffy pancakes on the side.
It was delicious, and he certainly did not leave hungry!
The other human, unable to choose just one delightful item, went à la carte.
- Perfectly baked cheddar-and-rosemary biscuit,
- Freshly shredded hash browns,
- Thick-cut bacon
- Toasted croissant loaf.
Exactly how it sounds, croissants pressed into a loaf, sliced and toasted.

With a steaming cup of tea tucked beside her, it was the perfect way to kick off the day.

Now let me quack about the humans at Rosie’s!
Everyone from the welcoming ladies to the chefs shaping the delicious magic in the kitchen, and even the owners themselves, was on hand to make us feel like lifelong regulars.

Their care and attention lit up our breakfast experience, leaving my humans grinning from ear to ear.
And me? Well, I was quite the celebrity!
With my sunny disposition and rubbery charm, they snapped a photo with their Polaroid camera!
My photo now proudly hangs in Rosie’s Café, proving that even a rubber duck can be part of breakfast history!

And my humans had some fun with a quirky ashtray!
It’s clear that following in Rosie’s footsteps is no small feat, but Barry and Tom have crafted a winning team that’s ensuring success will keep swimming their way.
Huge thanks to everyone at Rosie’s for starting our day on a perfect note. If you ever find yourself cruising by Sioux Falls, do yourself a favour: take that little detour off the interstate!
I promise you’ll leave feeling better than when you arrived, and not just because of the food!
NEVER MISS A
