    And let me tell you, they’ve hit the mark, even greeting you from the grill most days!

    Regulars rave about the family-run vibe that makes this place feel like a cozy home away from home.

    Perfect for a dapper duck like me who loves a warm atmosphere and delicious comfort food!

    Red Top draws repeat customers who meet up daily, many times, creating a standing-room-only situation!

    The classic breakfast is a favorite for my human; it always starts the day on a delightful note!

    This time, I had the pleasure of joining my human and her friend for a birthday celebration at one of Winnipeg’s finest dining spots, Fusion Grill, nestled in the vibrant River Heights area.

    Since 1996, Fusion Grill has been the brainchild of the illustrious Scot McTaggart!

    He envisioned a place that highlights unique Canadian-sourced ingredients through fine-dining options in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

    Known for his engaging personality and captivating stories, Scot often makes the rounds in the restaurant, ensuring everyone feels the warmth and passion he brings to his craft.

    My human has been a loyal patron of Fusion Grill since its inception, and I can understand why!

    Chef Lorna Murdoch, a culinary wizard whose journey spans the breadth of Canada, whips up dishes that are a symphony of local flavors delicately entwined with global influences.

    Every meal is an adventure, tempting even a rubber duck like me to dive right in!

    And speaking of incredible experiences, let’s talk about Raul!

    He’s a gem of a server with genuine passion for hospitality that shines through in every interaction.

    With impeccable timing, he ensures that our plates arrive just when we’re ready for the next taste, and he always keeps our glasses filled.

    It’s as if he possesses a magical memory, recalling our favorites from previous visits and making us feel like VIPs at a star-studded gala.

    Before we even caught a glimpse of the menu, Raul crafted their signature cocktail, the Fusion Royale.

    This sparkling concoction was nothing short of enchanting.

    Every sip was a delightful sparkle on my tongue, especially with a brandied cherry added, courtesy of Scot’s lovely mother.

    What a treat!

    Next up, Raul expertly paired our meal with a splendid bottle of Canadian wine from Orofino Vineyards in British Columbia.

    It was rich and full-bodied, enhancing the vibrant flavors of Fusion Grill and adding a golden touch to our dining experience.

    Raul’s enthusiasm for the menu is contagious, so not only did he suggest a fantastic wine, but we also asked him to expertly select sharing plates from the appetizer options on the menu.

    So, let’s dive into his choices, which were a treasure trove for our taste buds!

    A new treat on the menu was Smoked Steelhead Trout, what a delightful surprise! The smokiness added a depth that paired perfectly with fresh accompaniments. I dreamed of swimming in a pool filled with that exquisite trout.
    Then came an all-time favourite: Crispy Vegetable Dumplings. These crispy treats were filled with fresh vegetables and herbs, providing a refreshing crunch that danced alongside the other appetizers, a joyous playtime for my taste buds!
    We rounded the appetizer journey with succulent Mussels, steamed to perfection and kissed by a bright broth infused with garlic and herbs. I could virtually float in that sea of flavors!

    As much as we wanted to keep indulging in Fusion Grill’s culinary wonders, we didn’t have room to continue.

    The restaurant’s warm and inviting ambiance made my humans feel relaxed and unhurried.

    They were able to savor every moment, including polishing off the wine and ending with a delightful finish of spiked Blueberry Tea.

    What a perfect way to close another memorable dining adventure at a beloved establishment!

    Fusion Grill isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a vibrant fusion of culinary traditions that embodies the essence of Canada itself.

    Since its doors swung open in 1996, it has earned a special place in the hearts of Winnipeg residents and visitors alike, thanks to its commitment to local ingredients and inventive techniques.

    With its warm atmosphere, scrumptious dishes, and passionate staff, our visit was genuinely unforgettable, even for a rubber duck like me!

    The Antlers Restaurant – Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan

    As we travelled from Ontario back to our home base of Winnipeg, we decided to cross over to the US at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

    We were feeling hungry, so we asked around town for suggested local places to grab a bite. Several locals said, “You have to go to The Antlers.”

    As a rubber duck with a penchant for adventure, I waddled on over.

    I can assure you that dining there is quite the experience, bursting with history, character, and, of course, delicious food.

    Let me take you back to the beginning.

    This legendary establishment has quite a storied past, starting off as the Bucket of Blood Saloon during the Prohibition era. Imagine an ice cream parlour making a hefty profit of $900 while only selling a couple of cones in the month. It did not take long before the government caught wind of it. Miraculously, it emerged as a lemonade stand! Talk about a twist in history!

    The Antlers has had six families involved throughout its over four generations of heritage. It was exciting to learn about the infamous Kinneys, two Detroit cops, who bartered their way into creating an impressive collection of taxidermy that adorns the walls and ceilings. The Szabo family now carries on this tradition. They ensure that The Antlers remains a family-owned landmark.

    Today, Northern Michigan folks gather at The Antlers. They share stories, play some cards and lift their glasses to the stories of the past.

    Now let’s talk about the ambiance!

    Walking into The Antlers is like stepping into a rustic cabin filled with over 200 taxidermy specimens.

    The impressive collection showcases the passion and dedication that went into the hunt for these eclectic animals.

    Each mount tells a unique story and adds to the charm of the place. In fact, it’s like an adventure waiting to unfold.

    It was a little scary at times with polar bears and lions looking down on us from the rafters. However, then I saw a friendly swan…he wouldn’t eat me right!?!

    And if you’re into ghost stories, The Antlers even had its moment in the spotlight on A&E’s Biography channel when they explored its haunted legends. Just imagine the excitement of dining among tales of the past!

    Now, let’s get to the main event, the food!

    I had the pleasure of sampling their fish and chips, as well as the classic hamburger and fries. The fish and chips were delightfully crispy and golden brown, served with a side of tangy tartar sauce. Each bite was a delightful crunch that echoed the thrill of a good hunt! The freshness of the fish, paired with perfectly seasoned fries, made for a meal that was simply outstanding.

    The hamburger and fries, on the other hand, were a hearty and satisfying option. Juicy and flavorful, it was cooked to perfection and served on a fluffy bun. The fries were crisp and seasoned just right, giving that nostalgic comfort that everyone loves. You really can sense the “Up North” tradition in each mouthful: rustic, homey, and made with passion.

    So, if you’re in the area and craving a meal filled with heart, character, and a dash of history, don’t miss your chance to visit The Antlers Restaurant. Whether you’re there for the stories or the scrumptious Northern Michigan cuisine, you’re in for a quacking good time!     As BOB the rubber duck, I’ve had my share of adventures, but one of the most memorable was when my humans decided to take a road trip through the sunny Florida Keys.

    One morning, we got an early start to head from Florida City to Key West.

    My humans were getting a bit grumpy due to hunger, and the rain had started to sprinkle down.

    That’s when they spotted a Waffle House in Key Largo!

    Now, I’ve heard whispers in the bubble bath about Waffle House being a magical place with incredible breakfasts, so I was thrilled for my first visit!

    As we waddled in, we were greeted by the warm aroma of coffee and sizzling food.

    My humans settled in, and I perched proudly on the table, ready for the feast to begin.

    First came the piping hot coffee and tea to warm our souls.

    Then fluffy, golden, and oh-so-delicious waffles, my human couldn’t stop raving about them. The sausages made the perfect sidekick, adding a delightful crunch to the meal.

    Meanwhile, my other human was enjoying a BLT sandwich stuffed with crispy bacon that seemed to sizzle with joy. With the sides of hash browns and mushrooms, a true breakfast treat!

    But the real highlight? The staff at Waffle House!

    They were like a family, buzzing around with huge smiles and an infectious energy that made everyone feel right at home.

    Their friendliness and teamwork were something special; it was a joy to watch them serve with such enthusiasm!

    With our bellies full and hearts happy, we left with a glimmering positive image of this franchise, feeling as if we were part of their warm and welcoming family.

    Fast forward two weeks, and the journey carried us from Fort Myers, Florida, all the way to Ontario, Canada.

    After an hour on the road, my humans were on the lookout for another breakfast stop. Lo and behold, another Waffle House sign appeared!

    The excitement bubbled up inside me!

    We followed the signs to the Sarasota location, eager for round two.

    The place was buzzing with activity!

    It was clear this crew knew how to get things done.

    Customers were greeted warmly, many by name – talk about impressive!

    The staff was synchronized like a well-oiled machine, and I couldn’t help but bob along as they shouted orders and expertly delivered meals at warp speed.

    Just like at the Key Largo location, the food was fantastic, and the experience was even better.

    My humans and I felt right at home, soaking in the lively atmosphere.

    Once again, leaving with smiles on our faces, ready for more Waffle House adventures on future travels.

    You might find yourself enjoying an unforgettable breakfast, accompanied by fantastic staff and a whole lot of warmth!

    As a duck who knows something about comfort and coziness, I decided to waddle over and check out Davenport Diner.

    Spoiler alert: Amazing!

    First off, let’s talk about the decor.

    Waddling through the door, I am greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels like a big hug.

    The walls are adorned with heartfelt tributes to the military.

    A feature wall of photos and memorabilia that genuinely honour those who have served.

    It’s a unique touch, adding a sense of respect and patriotism that warms even my rubbery heart.

    The diner perfectly balances nostalgia and comfort, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.

    Now, let’s talk about the service.

    Angie’s friendly demeanour and quick service create a special dining experience.

    She knows how to make a rubber duck feel at home, and her exceptional service is a testament to the diner’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

    Bring on the food!

    One of my humans dug into the biscuits, gravy, eggs, and sausage links.  Oh boy! 

    Light and fluffy biscuits, rich and savoury gravy, eggs, a perfect over easy, and finished off with juicy and flavourful sausage links.

    Certainly a breakfast of champions!

    My other human fancied the French toast with hash browns.

    The French toast was golden-brown, thick, and fluffy with a drizzle of syrup finishing it off.  The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and seasoned just right!

    My humans had to waddle home after this meal!

    A special shout-out goes to Betsy, the lovely lady who recommended this gem of a diner to me.

    Thanks to Betsy, I will not soon forget my delightful dining experience.

    I’m genuinely grateful for her recommendation.

    Davenport Diner definitely earns a top-notch rating for its charming decor, delicious dishes, and Angie’s noteworthy service.

    We returned the next day and learned that the locals know how great it is, too!

    Today I take you on a thrilling ride through the electrifying world of the OCC Roadhouse and Museum in glorious St. Petersburg, Florida. 

    So grab your helmets (or, you know, floaties) as we dive into a realm bursting with bike history, jaw-dropping engineering, and some truly unforgettable characters!

    Since opening its doors in 2021, the Roadhouse has become the ultimate hangout for motorcycle enthusiasts and food lovers.

    The menu is a feast for the senses! 

    There’s something for everyone, from juicy burgers that make my little beak water to scrumptious wings (OUCH) that I can almost taste.

    The bar serves up an array of refreshing cocktails.

    Beers, and non-alcoholic options, perfect for washing down a day of adventure!

    Then there is the tribute to the renowned Orange County Choppers (OCC), a motorcycle brand with a story as rich as my beloved pond! 

    Founded in 1999 by the dynamic duo Paul Teutul Sr. and his creative whiz son, Paul Jr.

    The Teutuls skyrocketed to fame through the blockbuster TV series American Chopper. 

    Watching them build custom bikes while navigating family antics is as thrilling as a joyride down the coast!

    AT OCC Roadhouse, you’ll find a kaleidoscope of memorabilia and the legendary bikes that have graced the OCC family.

    Let’s pivot to the real stars of the show: the bikes!

    Oh, how my little rubber heart races as I float around the polished showroom! These bikes are not merely machines; they’re rolling works of art! 

    Each one is a testament to creativity and engineering brilliance, infused with the true spirit of the open road.

    These magnificent machines pay homage to fallen heroes, military veterans, and even the iconic Space Shuttle Challenger. 

    I may not be able to hit the highway, but I can appreciate the artistry in every curve and gleaming chrome detail!

    Awesome Attractions – St. Petersburg, Florida OCC Road House and Museum

    With their vibrant colours and intricate designs, each bike tells a story that resonates deeply with anyone who loves adventure.

    The heart and soul of this establishment is the team!

    These folks are friendlier than a duck in a pond full of breadcrumbs.

    They’re always eager to share their expertise and passion for motorcycles. 

    From the mechanics brimming with engine knowledge to the creative minds behind those killer custom designs, every team member is invested in ensuring you leave with a smile and a few fun stories! 

    Oh, and you can’t miss our favourite mascot, Gus, the life of the OCC party!

    OCC Roadhouse and Museum is a fabulous destination!

    Brimming with history, delicious eats, and an atmosphere buzzing with energy, it is certainly worth the time to visit when in the St. Petersburg area.

    Today, I’m diving into the delightful and vibrant experience of the Columbia Restaurant, a dazzling gem nestled in the heart of Ybor City.

    This restaurant is a culinary landmark serving smiles and savoury delights since 1905!

    What makes it even more remarkable is that it’s still in the loving hands of the fourth generation of the Hernandez family!

    Picture a sprawling 52,000 square feet of enchanting dining space where you can cozy up with 1,700 fellow food lovers.

    Break out the confetti because Columbia holds the title of Florida’s longest-standing restaurant: a true testament to dedication and community!

    Walking into the Columbia is like stepping into a vibrant time machine.

    The restaurant drips with culture and charm, celebrated for its stunning tile work and lively decor that whisper stories of a rich Cuban and Spanish heritage.

    You can almost hear the echoes of the past as you stroll through its bustling halls!

    Let’s chat about the incredible staff, especially the superstar Aaron!

    His service was smooth, like a gentle stream, and his menu knowledge was impressive.

    He made sure my visit was an unforgettable experience!

    My journey began with a sizeable slice of Cuban bread.

    Wow, was that a treat! 

    And then came the legendary 1905 Salad: if you think salads are boring, think again!

    This salad is a legendary blend of fresh iceberg lettuce, zesty dressing, and flavorful olives, crafting a perfect harmony of taste and texture.

    It has stood the test of time, remaining a beloved classic since day one!

    For the main event, the management team recommended the lobster cannelloni; let me tell you, it was pure magic on a plate!

    These tender cannelloni were filled with succulent lobster and drizzled with a rich sauce that danced playfully on my taste buds.

    Absolute bliss!

    If comfort food calls your name, the Pollo Manchego is your answer.

    Juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken topped with luscious melted Manchego cheese is like receiving a warm hug from the inside out!

    Satisfying and utterly delightful.

    Aaron expertly guided me through the wine selection, helping me choose the Purgatori Red Blend Wine.

    This full-bodied blend is an absolute must-try for wine enthusiasts!  Bursting with bold, dark-fruit flavours, it perfectly complemented my food choices.

    To wrap up my fantastic meal, I was treated to a lively Flamenco show right in the heart of the restaurant.

    The dancers were a whirlwind of energy and elegance, their vibrant costumes lighting up the room with every twirl and stomp.

      I may have no feet to dance with as a rubber duck, but you best believe I couldn’t resist bobbing along to the infectious rhythm!

    Bob here, sharing my unforgettable experience at the enchanting King Corona Cigar Bar in the vibrant heart of Ybor City, Florida.

     King Corona is a unique sanctuary where the air is infused with the alluring scent of cigars and the sound of laughter, crafting an irresistible atmosphere sure to captivate your senses.

    King Corona isn’t just another spot on the map.  It boasts a lively history as colourful as a rainbow after a summer storm!

    Founded by the Rios family, who’ve been rolling cigars longer than I’ve been bobbing in bathwater, this place is a true celebration of the art of cigar-making mixed with a whole lot of Cuban flair!

    As I waddled into the bar, the atmosphere immediately swept me away.  Imagine the buzz of New Orleans swept up in a colourful Cuban carnival! 

    The soft lighting, comfy couches, and the chatter of happy patrons created a cozy vibe that made me want to quack with joy. 

    And don’t even get me started on the décor: Cuban and Southern vibes mingling like old friends at a party!

    Now, what’s a good time without some fabulous cigars?

    King Corona’s cigar shop is a treasure trove with more options than you can shake a rubber duck at!

    There’s something for every palate, from the most popular sticks to those hidden gems you’d only find if you’re searching. 

    The sheer variety will excite any cigar enthusiast, and the super-friendly staff is always there to lend a flipper… I mean, hand!

    Oh, and what’s a cigar without a drink to match?

    Lexi recommended the “Last Word,” a zesty cocktail that combines gin, green chartreuse, maraschino liqueur, and fresh lime juice.

    A refreshing and tangy drink, perfect for cutting through the rich flavours of a cigar.

    The gin provides a strong base, while the green chartreuse adds herbal complexity, the maraschino liqueur brings subtle sweetness, and the fresh lime juice adds refreshing tang.

    As refreshing as a spring splash in the pond, and every sip pairs perfectly with a fine cigar.  Talk about bubbly brilliance!

    But beyond the cigars and cocktails, it’s the warm community spirit at King Corona that truly sets it apart.

    Whether you’re a seasoned aficionado or just starting your cigar journey, everyone’s welcome at this lively little haven.  I floated amongst laughter and camaraderie, and I couldn’t help but feel like a part of something bigger!  This sense of inclusivity is sure to make you feel right at home.

    King Corona Cigar Bar isn’t just a destination; it’s a cultural beacon in Ybor City, where laughter and good times flow like a never-ending bath.

    From its rich history and a stunning selection of cigars to the delightful drinks and friendly folks, it’s a must-visit wonderland for anyone looking to soak up the essence of cigar culture in a spirited and welcoming setting.

    Frenchy’s Runaway Grill – Clearwater Bay, Florida

    Let me take you on a culinary journey to Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill in Clearwater Beach.

    A unique beachside paradise where the sun, sand, and flavours come together in a symphony of delight.

    As soon as I waddled in, I was greeted with a view that could make any duck’s heart flutter, a stunning beach before my eyes!

    The warm sunshine felt terrific, and the sand tickled my webbed feet as we ate.  Talk about dining al fresco!

    We started our feast with the legendary key lime margarita and a tropical mango margarita.

    Quack-tastic!  WIth just the right amount of zing, tart and refreshing, as if sipping on sunshine itself.

    Meanwhile, the mango margarita was like a mini vacation for my taste buds, bursting with sweet goodness that made me feel like I was floating on a cloud!

    We coupled our drinks with a logo-inspired soft pretzel that tasted as great as it looked!

    Our chosen main dishes were fantastic!

    The Cajun Mahi Mahi dinner was a burst of flavour, perfectly seasoned with Cajun spices.  The fresh veggies and fluffy rice were the perfect partners in this culinary journey.  It was a taste sensation that will leave you craving for more!

    Then came the garlic pasta with shrimp.  Oh, my plucky little duck feet.  The shrimp were succulent, and the garlic sauce was so dreamy that I could honestly say I was floating on clouds of happiness!  It paired well with the sandy beach vibes, like a match made in foodie paradise.

    But hold your feathers, there’s more!  I couldn’t resist trying the burger platter, which was a juicy masterpiece.  With all those fresh toppings, each bite was like a festival of flavours dancing on my taste buds.  If I could clap my flippers, I would!

    Let’s not forget about the service!

    Our server, Lauren, was a ray of sunshine on a sunny Florida day. 

    Her warm hospitality and attention to detail added an extra sprinkle of joy to our dining experience.

    The service makes you feel genuinely valued as a customer and enhances the overall dining experience.

    When you are paddling around Clearwater Beach, make a pit stop at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill.

    You’re in for a treat with refreshing margaritas, mouthwatering Cajun Mahi Mahi, drool-worthy garlic pasta, and flavorful burgers!  I can guarantee you’ll have as delightful a time as I did. 

    Just a word of advice: if you go about 30 minutes before sunset, you will have front-row seats to a spectacular view….but heed the signs!

    Today, I waddled my way to The Hungry Crab in sunny Davenport, Florida, and let me tell you, it was an ocean of joy just waiting to be splashed into! 

    This quirky little seafood spot is like a treasure chest for all crustacean lovers, and I was ready to dive right in.

    As soon as I flapped my wings through the door, I sensed a buzz of energy that felt like a tidal wave of happiness.

    The décor was a whimsical nod to all things nautical.

    Think vibrant blues and sunshine yellows that made my rubber heart swell with delight. 

    It had all the charm of a beachside shack, perfect for families, friends, and curious quackers like me looking to feast on sea-inspired delights!

    Let’s dive into the real star of the feast: the seafood boil!

    Oh boy, where to start?

    Three mouthwatering boils circled onto our table, making my little ducky heart flutter with excitement!

    Succulent Snow Crab legs bursting with flavour, ready to be devoured!

    For Combo One, add plump black mussels and shrimp that practically leap off the plate in jubilation.

    And Combo Two?  Oh, it cranked the flavour dial up to eleven with spicy sausages that had my taste buds doing the cha-cha!

    One quirky addition: a couple of hard-boiled chicken eggs.  But sorry, there’s no way I could try those!

    The sides were to die for, my friends.  I couldn’t resist the garlic butter corn on the cob. Sweet, juicy, and oh-so-tender!

    And let’s not skip over the potatoes, soft, buttery morsels soaked in that delectable broth, nibbled on like little clouds of joy.

    I could have feasted on those all day long!

    The staff at The Hungry Crab treated me like a special little ducky! 

    They were not only friendly, but they fluttered around, ensuring I had everything I needed. 

    Let me tell you, it was a game-changer!

    The decor is unlike anything you’ve seen, and the drinks are a delightful surprise.

    The walls are covered with delightfully playful duck-themed artwork and colourful murals sprinkling fun all around.

    The cozy, warm lighting beckons you to sit and relax, whether with friends or enjoying a solitary moment of reflection.

    You won’t believe what is just to the left of the Tipsy Duck Parlor!

    Bath Junkie, a charming little store bursting with everything you need for a soak in the tub, including every rubber duck you can imagine! 

    From pirate ducks to superhero ducks, it was like a ducky wonderland!

    Just picture it: bright-yellow cuties, decked out in fun costumes, all frolicking together.

    I waddled around in sheer delight, feeling like I was among family. 

    It made my little rubber heart swell!

    As I waddled up to the bar, I notice a detail I had missed: the bar stools are duck-themed!

    Complete with webbed feet for their bases!

    Imagine if they were more my size!

    Now, let’s dive beak-first into the exciting drink menu, shall we?

    One of my humans couldn’t resist the Dirty Shirley, an adult remake of the classic Shirley Temple! The Dirty Shirley takes it up a notch with a splash of vodka.

    Delightfully bubbly and fruity

    The other human opted for Duck Punch: a vibrant tropical concoction! Imagine a lively blend of rum, fruity juices, and a hint of secret goodness. 

    Sweet and refreshing like a mini beach vacation!

    Ever since the Ramirez family opened their doors in 2015, they’ve been whipping up delightful Acapulco Mexican dishes at their Acapulco Mexican Restaurant. They also provide a warm, welcoming vibe that’s as cozy as a sunny beach on a perfect day.

    It’s like a little slice of Mexico right here in the Midwest!

    As soon as I floated into Acapulco, I was swept away by the vibrant colours and lively decor. Talk about a fiesta for the senses!

    The eye-popping murals and charming wooden accents made me feel like I had flapped my wings right into a celebration. 

    And oh, those catchy tunes drifting through the air? 

    They were like a gentle wave, setting a bubbly mood for a feathery good time with family or friends!

    Now, let’s dive into the food!

    First things first: those homemade tortilla chips in the never-ending bowl!

    Crunch-crunch, my dear friends, they are the epitome of crispy perfection, deliciously dancing with zesty salsa. Each dip is like a joyful cannonball into a fantastic pool of flavour!

    Feeling a bit hungrier? 

    Well, let me introduce you to the Fajita Taco Salad! 

    A vibrant tortilla bowl overflowing with marinated grilled steak, fresh veggies, and a drizzle of tangy dressing. 

    Each bite feels like a fiesta in your mouth—a quack-tastic celebration of flavours! 

    Taco salads rank high on my list, and I can confidently say the Acapulco version is swimming at the top!

    And for all you seafood lovers, you cannot miss the Seafood Enchilada! 

    Stuffed with shrimp, crab, and scallops—my floaty goodness! 

    It’s drenched in a creamy sauce, offering a delicious plunge into coastal flavours. 

    What a treat!

    Oh, and let’s give a big, feathery shout-out to the guacamole!  It’s so creamy and perfectly seasoned that it could easily steal the show! 

    With the right mix of avocado, tomatoes, lime, and cilantro, it’s the dream dip for those crunch-tastic chips. Or it serves as a fabulous topping for your main dishes.

    Acapulco shines not only because of its delicious food but also thanks to its fantastic staff!

    They greet you with warm smiles, making you feel like you’ve just jumped into a cozy pond filled with friendly fish.

    Always ready to assist and offer great recommendations, they ensure every dining experience is delightful. It is even better than a sunny day by the river.

    Our assigned server, Moy, was exceptional. But he wasn’t alone; the entire team worked together to ensure everyone was well attended to.

    Acapulco isn’t just a spot to eat; it’s a joyous celebration of authentic Mexican culture that fills your belly and warms your rubber ducky heart!

    As a rubber duck who prides himself on experiencing the finest spots around Winnipeg, I must say that Le Croissant Bakery is a true gem.

    Nestled in the heart of the city, this quaint bakery has been delighting patrons since its inception in 2005. 

    With a history steeped in passion for French baking, the owners brought their love for authentic pastries and hearty comfort food to life.

    They’ve created a cozy haven for food lovers.

    Upon waddling into Le Croissant Bakery, I was immediately embraced by the warm, inviting atmosphere.

    Let me paint a picture:

    • Delightful aroma of freshly baked goods wafting through the air
    • Rustic tables adorned with little vases of flowers
    • Soft chatter of happy customers and the clinking of coffee cups

    It is the perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon.

    And then there is the menu! Le Croissant offers a range of scrumptious options.

    The cheese and potato soup was an absolute standout.  Creamy and rich, with melted cheese swirling through every spoonful.

    It was like a warm hug on a chilly day.

    The tomato soup was equally enchanting—bright and flavourful. It perfectly complemented the fresh focaccia bread accompanying my meal.

    Oh, that focaccia!  Soft, fluffy, and topped with aromatic herbs, it practically danced across my taste buds.

    Of course, I couldn’t resist indulging in their signature croissant.

      Flaky, buttery, and baked to golden perfection.

    A true testament to the art of French baking!

    I treated myself to a cup of their rich hot chocolate to wash it all down.  It was decadently smooth and just the right amount of sweetness.

    The perfect end to my delightful feast.

    The bakery offerings don’t stop at savouries and sweets; they also feature an impressive selection of pastries, tarts, and artisan bread.

    Each delicacy is crafted with care, and it’s evident that the staff takes immense pride in their creations.

    Speaking of the staff – they were a highlight of my visit!

    Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the menu, they made my dining experience feel personal and welcoming.

    Bob here to paddle you through one of my absolute favourite places to chow down—Los Congos, near Orotina, Costa Rica! 

    This charming little gem is a must-stop if you’re cruising along the Pacific Coast and swinging by hotspots like Jaco or Manuel Antonio!

    As I waddled up to Los Congos, I couldn’t help but admire the enchanting carvings that adorned the entrance—talk about eye candy!

    Colourful wildlife and even an anatomically correct howler monkey greeted me.

    Walking into Los Congos was like being wrapped in a big, cozy hug!

    The rustic wooden decor and open-air seating created a warm and lively vibe.

    Plus, the gentle trickle of water from a nearby fountain gave the whole place a downright soothing soundtrack. 

    This is a haven for locals and travellers looking to enjoy scrumptious grub and good company.

    Let’s talk about the staff—my quack, they were terrific! 

    They treated me like royalty from the moment I splashed through the door!

    Their genuine smiles and enthusiastic service made me feel like a superstar.

    They were eager to share their recommendations and made me feel like I was in the hands of culinary wizards!

    Since I arrived bright and early, breakfast was calling my name!

    One of my humans dove into a traditional Costa Rican omelet. It was pure magical deliciousness!

    Each bite had his taste buds singing with joy!

    With a satisfied belly, he was already daydreaming about my next visit to explore their lunch menu.

    And, oh boy, did he return!  A few days later, we flapped from Playa Bendera for a late lunch with my beak practically watering!

    The star of the show?  A whole fried fish dinner that was out of this world! 

    The fresh catch was perfectly seasoned. In addition, it was served with giant prawns, crispy fries, and farm-fresh veggies.  The flaky, tender fish melted in my beak like a dream!

    But wait!  I couldn’t paddle away without indulging in their steak dinner.  What a treat for my taste buds! 

    The steak was expertly grilled with a beautiful char on the outside and oh-so-tender on the inside.  It was a culinary masterpiece, paired with those giant prawns, roasted veggies, and a scrumptious chimichurri sauce.  Each bite made me feel like the luckiest little rubber duck in the universe!

    As I floated away from Los Congos, my heart and belly were brimming with joy—the inviting ambiance, friendly staff, and mouthwatering food made for an unforgettable experience.

    Whether you’re a local or passing through Orotina, you must make a splash at Los Congos!

    Ahoy, fellow adventurers!  Bob here ready to quack about my latest joyous jaunt at the Jolly Roger Restaurant.

    This lovely spot is tucked away in the enchanting rainforest near Dominical, Costa Rica! 

    Perched on the mountainside, the Jolly Roger offers views that make even the grumpiest geese smile.

    I settled on the edge of a table, gazing down at the sprawling rainforest canopy. It spread below me like a lush green quilt.  The palm leaves swayed in the breeze. Additionally, the deep blue of the Pacific Ocean sparkled in the sunlight just beyond the trees.

     I felt like I was at the world’s most breathtaking front-row seat!

    A pair of magnificent macaws swooped overhead, flaunting their bright red and blue feathers like nature’s very own confetti! 

    Toucans chimed in with cheeky calls and created a symphony.

    The mood at Jolly Roger was electric, and the sounds of hungry nature wrapped around me like a warm embrace.

    Jolly Roger’s claim to fame as the ultimate jungle Wing Bar boasts 23 flavorful wing creations.

    But wings are not alone on the North American style menu:

    • Mouthwatering burgers,
    • vegan cauliflower wings, legendary Storm fries,
    • fresh salads,
    • and even “jungle” pizza

    All delight any palate. 

    When it’s time to wash down this deliciousness, I wholeheartedly recommend their house margaritas or delightful cocktails.

    A tantalizing blend of the freshest coconut water, piña-whiz magic, and a splash of rum, all swirled together to create a drink that feels like a dreamy float through paradise! 

    Seriously, one sip had me feeling like I was lounging on a fluffy cloud.

    They certainly do not hold back on the rum!

    As I nestled in, soaking up the ambiance and the as-fabulous-as-it-gets views, gratitude washed over me like the ocean waves below.

    The Jolly Roger is not just a restaurant. Instead, it’s a magical experience where nature’s beauty dances with culinary creativity.

If you’re on the hunt for a dining experience that wraps you in warmth and joy, you’ve just flapped your wings into the right spot. This charming eatery serves up not only scrumptious meals but also a heaping side of heartwarming hospitality!

    As soon as I quacked through the door of Blue Springs Cafe, it felt like slipping into a fluffy towel after an invigorating swim—pure bliss! The staff welcomed me like a long-lost pal, and I knew right away that this wasn’t just dinner; it was going to be a celebration of family, friends, and good food. They serve meals family-style, which means there’s plenty of deliciousness to share, just like a big, happy duck family!

    Now, let’s dive into the culinary delights! Oh, where to begin? We chose the fried cod, pan-fried walleye, and the chicken fried steak—each dish was a masterpiece! The fish was crispy on the outside and delightfully flaky inside, while the chicken fried steak was dripping with luscious white gravy that could make even a grumpy duck like me crack a smile. Now, that’s saying something!

    And hold onto your feathers, because the side dishes were an endless parade of yum! We had coleslaw, house-pickled beets, real mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, fluffy biscuits, and sweet apple butter. The variety was enough to make my little rubber heart dance! My human adored the beets—sweet, earthy, and downright delightful. It was as if the kitchen had conjured up a special dish just for us!

    But, oh dear, let’s not forget about the stars of the show: the mile-high pies! Seriously, these towering treats are taller than me! The meringue was like a fluffy cloud that you could lose yourself in. Even after devouring so much delectable food, we couldn’t resist boxing up a lemon meringue pie for later. My human has a sweet tooth for cherry pie, so she snagged a slice for our road trip ahead. Whether you fancy classic fruit pies or creamy delights that stand tall, these beauties are reason enough to veer off the interstate and indulge!

    So, if you find yourself navigating the waters of Highland, make sure to steer your boat towards Blue Springs Cafe! With its inviting atmosphere, friendly faces, and mouthwatering fare, it’s a true gem celebrating the joy of good food and great company.     I recently found myself on a grand adventure in the bustling city of Indianapolis, Indiana. Oh, what a delightful journey it was! My humans, always on the prowl for a fantastic meal, wanted a place that celebrated their love for beef.

    After some quacking around, Bynum’s Steakhouse caught our eye. They had their heart set on something great, and oh, did they make the right choice at Bynum’s Steakhouse!

    Bynum’s Steakhouse isn’t just any eatery; it’s been a cornerstone of the Indianapolis food scene for over 20 years! The second-generation owner, Ritchie Curry, believes strongly in making every guest feel valued. This place is all about serving up joy along with a great meal, and boy, did that resonate with us as we hopped our way inside! Dining at Bynum’s Steakhouse was an experience to remember.

    As we arrived, massive Hereford and Angus bull statues—the official welcome wagon—stood proudly at the entrance.

    It was like stepping into a cowboy movie, with a rustic yet elegant ambiance that made my rubber heart sing. I might not eat, but I sure can appreciate a good vibe at Bynum’s Steakhouse!

    The service? Let me tell you, it was like sunshine on a warm day!

    Our server was bursting with enthusiasm and made it his mission to ensure my humans understood every item on the menu. He refilled their drinks faster than I can float down a stream, and even rallied the other diners into a joyous celebration—talk about a duck-filled good time!

    The menu was a feast for the senses!

    Some ventured “from The Deep,” choosing delightful morsels of Swordfish and Lobster, while others gravitated towards the beefy “House Specialties” featuring Angus beef aged for a whopping 21 days.

    And then there was the star of the show—the legendary 32-ounce bone-in Prime Rib. Talk about a beefy challenge! Two brave souls decided to compete in an ultimate meat-off. Who would conquer this colossal portion at Bynum’s Steakhouse? My little rubber flipper was cheering them on!

    While waiting for our main courses, the humans enjoyed their onion soup and salad—oh boy, did I wish I could taste that! The laughter and camaraderie that filled the room made it feel like one big happy family. We even exchanged stories with a group celebrating a special occasion nearby. It was pure joy—a true gathering of souls over good food.

    Then, the moment we’d all been waiting for arrived: the main dishes!

    The sight of those prime rib dinners took our breath away; they looked positively glorious. One enthusiastic human tackled the entire portion, while the other waved the white flag of surrender, something I completely understood—32 ounces is no small feat!

    Our stellar server, like a culinary artist, packed up the leftovers with such flair, wrapping everything in foil as if it were a precious gift. The whole experience was a whirlwind of flavours, laughter, and sheer delight.

    If I were to rate Bynum’s Steakhouse—as a dedicated rubber duck who’s seen many great eateries—I’d give Bynum’s Steakhouse a jaw-dropping 7.5 out of 5!

    There wasn’t a single thing that could have made the experience better.

    Ahoy there! It’s me, Bob the Rubber Duck, here to share an underwater tale about one of Raleigh’s most beloved dining spots: the 42nd Street Oyster Bar. Now, I may not have feet to explore, but I’ve soaked in enough stories and splashes of fun. Let me tell you why this place was a must-visit!

    Imagine stepping into a vibrant world where the salty sea air mixes with the buzzing excitement of a popular restaurant.

    That’s precisely the vibe at 42nd Street Oyster Bar, a delightful establishment that opened its doors back in 1931. Initially, it was a simple grocery store selling fresh oysters.

    With time, it transformed, evolving into a lively hub where folks could gather. They would swap stories and enjoy a pint of draft beer in frosted mugs—a first for the area, mind you!

    Fast forward to 1987, and the restaurant had a grand makeover. It found its new home at the corners of Jones and West streets. It wasn’t just a restaurant; it was a treasure chest filled with nostalgia. There were quirky neon signs and a wall decked with license plates.

    Each corner told a story, with photos of Raleigh’s rich history hanging around like old friends. This setting was perfect for a rubber duck like me who adores tales of yore!

    Even the bathrooms held some entertaining signs and sayings!

    Now, let’s talk about the food, my favourite subject!

    My human companions dove into a fresh medley of oysters right off the daily catch. I must say, this had me quacking with envy!

    They indulged in hearty portions of steaks and seafood, each plate looking more scrumptious than the last. And oh, those cheesy potatoes? I have no words!

    Sadly, the waves of change hit hard when, in March 2025, the doors closed after nearly a century of delicious memories. The search for a viable lease was just too slippery.

    But not all hope is lost!

    Here’s the exciting splash: whispers from the ocean suggest that a team from the former ownership is determined to float the idea of reopening in February 2026.

    Can you believe it? We might get to splash back into those old memories again!

    So whether you’re a seafood lover or just someone who appreciates a dash of nostalgia, keep your eyes peeled for the revival of this iconic establishment. Until then, I’ll be here, ready for a new adventure! Quack on!
