Bob is reporting live from the fabulous Davenport Diner. As a duck who knows something about comfort and coziness, I decided to waddle over and test this diner. Spoiler alert: I was not disappointed!
First off, let’s talk about the decor. The moment I waddled through the door, I was greeted by a warm, welcoming atmosphere that felt like a big hug.
The walls are adorned with heartfelt tributes to the military, showcasing photos and memorabilia that genuinely honour those who have served. It’s a unique touch, adding a sense of respect and patriotism that warms even my rubbery heart. The diner perfectly balances nostalgia and comfort, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.
Now, let’s talk about the service. I was fortunate to be served by the fabulous Angie, whose friendly demeanour and quick service made my dining experience even more special. She knows how to make a rubber duck feel at home, and her exceptional service is a testament to the diner’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

I started with the biscuits, gravy, eggs, and sausage links. Oh boy! The biscuits were fluffy and light, almost like floating on a gentle wave. The gravy was rich and savoury, with just enough seasoning to make my taste buds quack with joy. The eggs were cooked perfectly—sunny-side up, how I like them! And the sausage links? Juicy and flavorful, they complemented the dish beautifully. I could hardly contain my excitement as I dove into this delicious spread!

Next up was the French toast with hash browns. The French toast was golden-brown, thick, fluffy, and sweet enough to make my rubbery self swoon. A drizzle of syrup made it even more delightful. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—just the way I like them! Together, these dishes made for a breakfast that left me feeling as buoyant as ever.

A special shout-out goes to Betsy, the lovely lady who recommended this gem of a diner to me. Thanks to her, I had a delightful dining experience that I won’t soon forget. I’m genuinely grateful for her recommendation.

In conclusion, Davenport Diner is a must-visit for anyone in the area. This diner has earned my rubber duck approval with its charming decor, delicious dishes, and top-notch service from Angie. So, if you find yourself nearby, don’t hesitate to stop and enjoy a meal that will leave you quacking with delight! By the way, this diner was so great we returned the next day and learned a lesson. Everyone else knows how great it is, so the lineup was out the door. Next time we will go earlier.
