    Virginia’s Travelers Cafe – Lincoln, Nebraska

    Hello, fellow floaters! It’s me, Bob the Rubber Duck. I’ve just paddled my way to a quacking good spot in Lincoln, Nebraska: Virginia’s Traveler’s Cafe!

    I recently trotted (well, floated) in with my human to visit Dizzy. She’s a local hero from Support Bikers Nebraska, who’s been a bit wobbly post-accident.

    Dizzy, with her adventurous spirit, suggested we check out this local treasure, and wow, did it deliver!

    As we waddled into Virginia’s just at the tail-end of the lunch rush, the place was alive with laughter and friendly chatter. The aroma of mouthwatering food made my little rubber stomach flutter with excitement.

    It felt like stepping into a warm embrace where everyone here seemed like family.

    Let me tell you about the heart behind this charming café: Virginia herself!

    This remarkable woman wasn’t just a business owner. She was a beloved community matriarch. She’s known for her hard work, kindness, and the most fabulous homemade meals you can imagine.

    Her spirit lives on through the café. All the love she poured into it still sings through the air.

    The current owners have embraced Virginia’s legacy with enthusiasm. They serve up scrumptious homemade dishes and desserts along with rich, steaming coffee.

    They’ve turned the café into a vibrant gathering spot. Here, locals and travelers can come together, swap tales, and indulge in some of the best comfort food around.

    It’s like a cozy family reunion every single day!

    Our server really knew how to keep the good vibes rolling

    Coffee cups were never empty, and I tell you, the food arrived faster than a flurry of feathers.

    My human set his sights on the cherry pie. With a generous scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream on top, it was a sight to behold!

    I had to watch in awe (and a pinch of jealousy) as he savoured each delightful bite.

    If you ever find yourself floating through Lincoln, don’t miss your chance to drop by Virginia’s Traveler’s Cafe.

    There’s always a warm seat waiting just for you, and who knows, maybe a slice of that legendary pie too!

    Wild Bill’s Bar and Grill – Rulo, Nebraska

    What a quack-tastic time I had at Wild Bill’s Bar and Grill in Rulo, Nebraska! Let me tell you about my delightful dining adventure, filled with unique dishes and plenty of fun at this one-of-a-kind spot.

    As soon as we waddled in, the warm, welcoming vibe made me feel right at home. I did feel a little nervous when I saw a friendly hunting sign. (Whew!  Thank goodness for geese).

    There was plenty of memorabilia in the rustic décor. The ambiance was completed by the friendly locals who greeted and chatted with us.   

    We kicked things off with an appetizer of pepper jack balls, which were a delightful little treat! They had just the right amount of spice to get our taste buds dancing.

    The quality of the food was top-notch, and each bite was a burst of flavour.

    For the main event, one of my humans chose the chicken wings, perfectly crispy and coated in a mouthwatering sauce. Paired with thick and delicious plank fries, it was a meal fit for a king! Of course, a refreshing beer made for a perfect accompaniment.

    On the other side of the table, we had a three-cheese grilled cheese sandwich that was ooey-gooey in the best way possible. Again, with the signature plank fries on the side and a Missouri Sunrise mixture of Malibu rum blended with cranberry and orange juices. It added a splash of fruity goodness. All together, it was a plate of pure comfort.

    Food and beverages are not the only offerings at Wild Bill’s!

    It is a friendly spot for locals to meet up for refreshments and camaraderie. It is particularly known for its fantastic Friday night buffet. There, you can sample a variety of dishes that are sure to please any palate.

    Plus, the live music adds an electric atmosphere that keeps the energy high. With outdoor seating and a stage that invites local talent and dancing, it’s a great spot to relax. You can enjoy the evening with friends and family.

    Even though Wild Bill’s is a bit off the beaten track, it’s worth looking up for a memorable experience.

    If you’re looking for delicious food and a lively atmosphere, Wild Bill’s is the place to be. Even I, Bob the Rubber Duck, can appreciate a great time! Quack on over and enjoy!
