As BOB the rubber duck, I must tell you about our exciting culinary adventure at Triple Eight’s Chinese Restaurant in Springfield, Missouri!

This delightful spot became our group dinner destination on the first full day of Badger Bash 2025. And boy, was it a splash!

Now, let me tell you, visiting this place wasn’t a mere coincidence. It was a strategic plunge into the world of flavour!
You see, Triple Eight’s is famously known for serving the one and only secret recipe Cashew Chicken.
When you hang out with Sonny Da Badger, you learn that he’ll navigate through any waters to savour this dish.
Naturally, we were all eager to do a taste test on this sensational dish with Sonny by our side!

As soon as we waddled through the doors, the inviting ambiance washed over us like a warm tide. The staff greeted us with smiles and provided phenomenal service, making the whole experience even more special.
While many in our group flirted with other menu options, my human went right for the “Sonny” selection. They trusted the culinary instincts of our friend, as any adventurous duck would!

The menu was filled with a host of enticing choices.

Shrimp to beef, from rice to noodles, and fresh vegetables, all served in a variety of dishes. And I even caught a glimpse of a few diners ordering salads. Even though the buffet was overflowing with eye-catching dishes, our group of passionate bikers did not have an appetite that large on this visit.

But let’s not forget about the iconic Cashew Chicken!

Picture tender chunks of chicken nestled in rice, all wrapped up and cloaked in a light, tempura-like batter.
After being deep-fried to perfection, this delightful creation is coated in a semi-sweet, tangy sauce. It is adorned with crunchy cashews and fresh chives.
Served alongside a fluffy rice and a crispy spring roll, it was an absolute feast!
This dish was truly a treat to behold!
Sonny’s taste test was a resounding success for my human and the rest of us! But listen up, aspiring chefs, if you think you can replicate this masterpiece, you might be barking up the wrong tree (or floating in the wrong pond). The recipe is strictly guarded. So plan regular trips to Springfield if you want to enjoy this culinary marvel!

Whether you’re a local resident or just making a splash through town, Triple Eight’s is an essential stop for anyone craving authentic Chinese cuisine with a unique twist. We floated out of there feeling completely satisfied, ready to share this hidden gem with everyone, because every duck deserves a tasty adventure!
