Bob here with a delightful dining discovery: Cottage Bakery and Cafe!
On a sunny afternoon, we were enjoying a ride on Goldie and decided to drop in to the St. Mary location of The Cottage Bakery and Café for a late lunch. What a charming little gem it turned out to be!

As we stepped inside, we were enveloped by a warm, inviting vibe that made us feel right at home.

The charm of the staff was complemented by the sweet aroma of freshly baked goods wafting through the air. It felt like a haven for hungry souls looking for some comfort food!

Let’s dive a bit into the history of The Cottage Bakery and Café, shall we?

Established with a passion for homemade goodness, this cozy bakery has been crafting its treats from scratch for 94 years!
You read that right: Frank Brown first brought his baked goods to the Fort Garry area in 1932.
The Esfehanis established ownership of Mr. Brown’s legacy in 2005 and have never looked back.
They now boast three locations, and not only have they retained many of the original recipes for baked greatness.
By adding menu items to support a sit-down café for breakfast and lunch, the Cottage Bakery has become a go-to meeting spot for locals.

Now, let’s talk about our lunch choices!

One of my humans opted for the chicken salad sandwich, paired with a delightful carrot soup.
The sandwich is filled with tender chicken, fresh greens, and a sprinkle of herbs that dance on the palate.
Meanwhile, the carrot soup was a velvety bowl of deliciousness, bringing a hint of sweetness that warmed my rubber ducky heart!
My other human took a different route, diving into a scrumptious vegetarian panini with a side bowl of freshly made mushroom soup.
Packed with fresh, colourful veggies and a hint of herbed goodness, the panini is served with homemade fries that were crispy and oh-so-satisfying.
The rich and earthy mushroom soup, a perfect companion that was both comforting and decadent.

We savoured our meals while enjoying the company of the friendly and attentive staff.
Everyone made our experience special, embodying the cozy cottage vibe in every interaction.

To our amazing server
Of course, you know I couldn’t let my humans leave without some sweet treats!

We picked up a take-home package filled with delicious desserts.
At the top of the list: Carrot cake, a piece of schmoo, and zesty lemon tarts.

Each bite was surely worth every calorie, making my heart quack with joy!
The Cottage Bakery and Café isn’t just a place to grab a bite; it’s a community hub that celebrates good food, good friends, and good times.
