Hey there! I’m BOB, your friendly rubber duck, and I’m here to give you a unique look at the beautiful War Eagle Creek and the historic War Eagle Bridge in Arkansas. As someone who loves to float along the water, let me tell you, this place is a real gem!

Another gem of a stop during our week of great rides during Badger Bash 2025 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas!

First off, War Eagle Creek is like a favourite playground for families! It flows gently through the stunning Ozark landscape, providing a relaxing float for families and adventurers alike.
As you bob along the surface, you can see lush greenery and lovely bluffs lining the creek.

The scenery would remind you of the famous Buffalo National River, but it’s more like a cozy little version just for families!
It is classified as an easy Class 1 paddle, making it accessible for everyone, from the youngest paddlers to seasoned veterans.

The six-mile float usually takes about three to three and a half hours. You get to enjoy the calm waters with all your paddling pals.
When the creek flows just right, around March to mid-June, you can see anglers casting their lines for catfish, bream, and even walleye—what a buffet!

And let me tell you, the wildlife here is bustling! Humans often spot deer, foxes, and some cheeky wild turkeys wandering along the banks. Meanwhile, kingfishers and woodpeckers flit in the sky above. It’s like a live nature documentary every time!

Withrow Springs State Park is a perfect spot for human friends to set up camp. They can hike the scenic trails and gaze down at the sparkling creek while I float by with a cheerful quack.

A favourite spot has been the War Eagle Cave, but it is now closed to the public to help the bats avoid disease transmission.
Now, let’s delve into the impressive War Eagle Bridge.
This historic Parker truss bridge, constructed in 1907, is not just a bridge; it’s a living testament to the area’s rich past and vibrant present. Its construction, at a cost of just under $5,000, is a marvel to behold. It stands strong against the test of time.

I would have loved to float underneath it, getting an up-close view of its sturdy structure. But, when I saw what happened one human I decided against the floating!

Just imagine the countless stories he could tell if he could quack!
War Eagle Bridge has been included in the National Register of Historic Places since 1985.

The inclusion further cements its significance in local history.

So, whether you are paddling down War Eagle Creek or lounging around War Eagle Bridge, life is pretty spectacular.
Grab your kayak, pack a picnic, and get ready for a splendid time in the charming embrace of War Eagle, Arkansas!
