Let me introduce you to the dynamic duo behind this legendary establishment: Andy and Keri Boyum!  Andy boasts over 30 years of Harley-riding experience. Andy and Keri made their way from the Midwest to Eureka Springs.  Together, they shared a dream that couldn’t be ignored: the dream of founding the ultimate biker bar.

They took the plunge in 2014, breaking ground and turning that dream into reality.  By March 2017, SwitchBack Bar opened its doors. It welcomed all bikers (and their rubber duck pals) to a haven that truly celebrates the spirit of the open road!

Now, let’s talk about what makes SwitchBack Bar so special!  This place isn’t just your average watering hole: it’s a pulsating hub of excitement and events.  I had a blast attending the kickoff of the legendary Badger Bash 2025 right here!

Although the meet-up kicked off before the bar opened, you could feel the electric energy in the air from the night before. Especially when you entered the building.

The journey to SwitchBack is an adventure in itself. It has breathtaking views and winding roads that make the ride even more unforgettable. It’s a thrilling experience that sets the perfect tone for your visit to the coolest biker hangout in Eureka Springs!

Switchback Bar also features live music—the heartbeat of the bar!  With an incredible roster that includes local legends like Vince Turner, The Naked Jake, Donny Kuntz, and Gypsy Outcast, you’re guaranteed to find yourself tapping your flippers to the beat. You can kick back on one of the most enormous outdoor decks in Eureka Springs!

This isn’t just a place to rest; it’s where the magic of the biker community comes alive. We gather, share stories, and make memories.

So, if you find yourself in the Eureka Springs area, don’t miss the chance to venture a little off the beaten path to SwitchBack Bar.  Whether you’re a biker or a rubber duck, grab a cold drink. Enjoy some delicious grub, and connect with fellow adventurers who share that same passion for the open road. Don’t forget the good times waiting at the end of it!

What an exhilarating adventure! I’m usually content to float serenely in bathtubs. However, nothing could prepare me for the sheer thrill of bounding across the rugged trails at 3B Off Road Excursions in the stunning Ozarks of Eureka Springs, Arkansas!

Our motorcycle enthusiast group was in Eureka Springs for the much-anticipated Badger Bash. An event brilliantly organized by the dynamic duo Sonny and Angie from Support Bikers. A visit to 3B Off Road was just one morning of the week-long event. Its purpose was to give these adrenaline-thirsty humans an off-road thrill.

Donned in helmets (or not) and ready for action, we climbed into our four-wheeler. I perched proudly on top, feeling like the king of the world!

With Rick and Christina by my side, the wind whipped past us. We stomped on the gas and roared into the wilderness.

This adrenaline-pumping ride was the ultimate way to soak in the raw beauty of Eureka Springs. Every twist and turn was a new highlight, every bump a burst of laughter among friends.

War Eagle Creek and Bridge – Rogers, Arkansas

Hey there! I’m BOB, your friendly rubber duck, and I’m here to give you a unique look at the beautiful War Eagle Creek and the historic War Eagle Bridge in Arkansas. As someone who loves to float along the water, let me tell you, this place is a real gem!

Another gem of a stop during our week of great rides during Badger Bash 2025 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas!

This historic Parker truss bridge, constructed in 1907, is not just a bridge; it’s a living testament to the area’s rich past and vibrant present. Its construction, at a cost of just under $5,000, is a marvel to behold. It stands strong against the test of time.

I would have loved to float underneath it, getting an up-close view of its sturdy structure. But, when I saw what happened one human I decided against the floating!

War Eagle Bridge has been included in the National Register of Historic Places since 1985.

The inclusion further cements its significance in local history.

  • War Eagle Mill – Rogers, Arkansas

War Eagle Mill – Rogers, Arkansas

What a splash-tacular adventure I had at War Eagle Mill in Rogers, Arkansas! As Bob the Rubber Duck, I couldn’t have chosen a more delightful spot to float along. I soaked in a fabulous mix of history, nature, and mouthwatering flavours.

This enchanting mill, with its origins dating back to the 1830s, stands as a true historical gem nestled in the stunning Ozarks.

The soothing sound of War Eagle Creek paired with the lush greenery surrounding me. It provided the perfect backdrop for a break during an exhilarating ride during Badger Bash.

Imagine Sylvanus Blackburn arriving in War Eagle Valley back in 1832, I can vividly picture the breathtaking scenery that welcomed him!

Sylvanus and his family discovered a peaceful paradise beside the War Eagle River, gazing out over the majestic Ozark Mountains.

I float along, daydreaming about the brave Blackburn family setting up camp under a starlit sky. The echoes of distant mountain lions serenaded their nights.

What an adventure that must have been! Once they built their two-story home, along with that charming grist mill, they transformed the valley into a bustling hub of activity.

The mill was alive with excitement, a gathering place where families would come not just to mill but to share stories, trade, and reconnect with friends. The Blackburns even added a sawmill and a general store. There was also a multipurpose building that served as a school and a Masonic lodge. I can only imagine the vibrant scenes that filled those days, brimming with joy and camaraderie!

But, alas, change can be cruel. During the Civil War, the mill was sadly lost to flames just before the Battle of Pea Ridge. Sylvanus, being the wise man he was, moved his family to safety. Sadly, my heart aches for Ambrose, one of his sons, who lost his life in that tumultuous time. Remarkably, the Blackburns returned after the war. They rebuilt the mill and kept their legacy alive until fire struck again in 1924.

For many years, the mill existed only as a memory until 1971. During that year, the Medlin family recognized the potential hidden within its weathered walls. With unwavering passion and dedication, they embarked on a mission to restore the mill to its former glory. I could feel the excitement bubbling in the air!

Fast forward to today, and here I am, joyfully bobbing along as visitors immerse themselves in this historical wonder. They grind organic grains to their heart’s content. With a charming restaurant and a delightful gift shop, there is truly something for everyone here.

When we ventured inside, the heavenly aroma of freshly ground cornmeal wrapped around me like a warm hug.

The shop? A delightful treasure trove bursting with local goods and artisanal products, my humans could hardly resist scooping up tasty treats to take home!

We were all hungry from our ride, so we decided to indulge in a little culinary adventure, and wow, it sure hit the spot! From a delectable bacon and tomato sandwich to a huge Chef’s salad, the entire group was satisfied!

With friendly staff who radiated enthusiasm for the mill’s history and culinary delights, we felt right at home. The soothing sounds of nature, along with breathtaking views of the creek, made our experience even more special.

So, if you find yourself in the area, don’t just waddle by, hop on over to War Eagle Mill for a delightful escape where you can enjoy fresh, locally-produced meals in a stunning setting.

Beaver Dam – Beaver Lake, Arkansas

An awe-inspiring dam begging to be explored!

After parking the bikes, we made our way to the viewing area.

Everyone was ready to continue on our two-wheeled adventure of the day.

The Beaver Dam became a memory in our rear-view mirrors…but that is not where my story ends.

But hold your duck floats, there’s even more to discover! Beaver Lake boasts twelve well-developed parks.

This lake is a top-notch spot for bass tournaments. Can you feel the excitement? With seven full-service marinas and 1,750 boat slips, you’ll find limitless ways to revel in the beauty of this fantastic waterway.

  • Beaver Bridge – Beaver, Arkansas

    Beaver Bridge – Beaver, Arkansas

Quack, quack, friends! I’m excited to share my latest adventure at the Beaver Bridge, affectionately known as the “Little Golden Gate,” in the charming town of Beaver, Arkansas. This was our first stop of the day with the Support Bikers Crew during the exciting 2025 Badger Bash in Eureka Springs. Let me tell you, it was a quacking good time!

As we approached the historic wooden suspension bridge, I couldn’t help but be in awe. Built in 1949 by the Pioneer Construction Company, the Beaver Bridge is a testament to the ingenuity of its time. It’s the only suspension bridge still open to traffic in Arkansas. It is a living piece of history that has withstood the test of over 70 years.

The Beaver Bridge, stretching 554 feet long and only 11 feet wide, is a sight to behold. Cars must take turns crossing since only one direction is allowed at a time. Just make sure your vehicle can squeeze across; there’s a height clearance of 11’4″ and a weight limit of 10 tons, which is 20,000 pounds. When those big trucks roll by, you can practically feel the bridge sway beneath you!

And let me tell you about the breathtaking views! There’s a lovely parking area on the Beaver side, where you can hop out and soak in the beautiful scenery, relax, or snap a few more photos. It’s no wonder the locals refer to this place as “the bridge to nostalgia.” Not much has changed here over the years, and everything feels just a bit magical.

So, if you ever find yourself near Eureka Springs, make sure to take a detour to visit the Beaver Bridge. Whether you’re a biker, a photographer, or just a fan of splendid views, it’s an adventure you won’t want to miss. Until next time, keep paddling along and quacking at the beauty around you!
