What a quack-tastic morning I had exploring the charming waterfront area of Sidney, BC!

My humans were visiting the beautiful Victoria area on Vancouver Island, and we booked a ferry ride back to the mainland departing from this little gem of a town.

As I floated down those delightful streets, I couldn’t help but ponder Sidney’s rich history; turns out it was ferry central for foot traffic since 1912, and then upgraded to automobile ferries in 1922! Can you imagine all the folks who waddled these streets before me?

We kicked off our day early, with a mission: find the perfect cup of coffee to fuel our waterfront adventure!
But, just as we started our quest, the heavenly aroma of freshly baked goodies swept through the air. My humans, unable to resist the scent, led us on a quick detour to Sidney Bakery.

Oh my quack, the choices were endless! They finally settled on some unique and scrumptious pastries, and I was on cloud nine, floating with excitement.

Next up was Alexander’s Coffee Bar, and what a treat it was! The coffee was brewed to perfection, one of my humans even transformed theirs into a latte! Now that’s what I call a classy start to the day.

Finally, it was time for my favourite part: the waterfront stroll!

We met some friendly locals along the way, people walking their dogs, riding bikes, and simply soaking in a glorious May morning. We even stopped for a few snapshots with some local emergency workers; they were definitely crowd-pleasers!
As my humans meandered along the scenic waterfront, I soaked in the astonishing views of shimmering waters and picturesque boats bobbing gracefully in the harbour.
We snapped photos that could make anyone feel like they’d walked right into a postcard!

And of course, we had to snap some selfies with the quirky statues that dotted the path.

After indulging our eyes with this stunning scenery, we made our way to the Surly Mermaid for lunch. Oh, what a quirky spot it was!

The food was simply out of this world, and I could practically taste the happiness radiating from my humans as they savoured every bite.

My visit to Sidney was jam-packed with…

history

beauty

delightful experiences

scenic waterfront

tasty treats

and laughter shared with new friends
But alas, it was time to waddle to the ferry dock for our trip back to Vancouver.

As excited as I was for our next adventure, I felt a twinge of sadness saying goodbye to such a lovely and welcoming place.

As we boarded the ferry back to Vancouver, I couldn’t help but quack with glee about the wonderful memories we’d created. Here’s to even more adventures and quack-tastic moments in the future!
